That's exactly what I'm waiting for. I talked to MBA and they are working on it, but don't have a time line yet. I think they would look pretty sweet, especially with the stainless steel inserts!

They really are working on it huh? Cool.

As for the inserts, I thought about it, but I wasn't sold if I'd actually like the look, so I went to stripeman.com and ordered a "sticker" in metallic smoke. They're only $14.95 and look almost as good...

Not to burst your bubble guys but I sent them an e-mail about a year ago and they said they were in the pipeline. I finally gave up on that.

Well that figures...

Hey, Mad Machinist... can you help us out? If the price is good, I'd buy three... and I have friends that also might be interested.

MBA has yet to respond. I would bet 20 bucks they aren't in the market for doing this. Does anyone know if the Z06 badge was copyrighted by GM? If not can someone provive proof (document), etc.

I personally liked the first style that was drawn up, that looked exactly like the ZO6 badge, just Z28 instead, no liters/hp, or nothing, just a tastefull modification for us Z28 guys, hell, maybe even the WS6 crown might be interested, but i would rather keep it to our cars, since at least a few of ours actually wore the badges. And if my car can keep up/or beat a real ZO6/ZL1, why shouldn't i be able to wear a derivative of it's badge?

Gooday gents.

First off, anything you can draw, Photoshop, whatever, I can make. Just e-mail me the picture, simple as that.

jg95Z28,
What are you asking about? The badges in billet or the insert lettering? Here's a badge (just like the original) just in billet.

Here's another shot of the Z06 style badge.

I am working on others and should have them up by this weekend. Should also have some prototypes by next week.

Mike I will take the z28 and the bage with the red z if you could do it in orange. One thing I think is people would like to know how much these things will be. Around about figure would suffice until total # of orders could be attained.

I want the same ones as CHEVY does. I want to put one on the back of my car. Hey MAD, are you in Australia? Bet shipping will be a few bucks from there. Let us know a ballpark on prices.

Gooday gents,
Let me give you a little run through here on the way these will be produced before pitching a price. First there's the conceptual design and the computer generated model. Then, using CAM a program is created for the machine tool. The tools for this type of part are extremely small, therefore machine time is a little on the heavy side.
Once machined, the parts are grey anodized, then the "Z" is filled (I can do whatever colour you want) and the numbers "28" are polished along with the ellipse surrounding the "Z". They will then need to be clearcoated to preserve the luster.

I should have an actual prototype by this weekend and will from there see what I can do to maximize the efficiency of this process without sending them to another organization. I want the control in house for quality reasons. The finsished product will look professional, it will not look in any way shape or form, 'cheap'.

The price for 2 Z06-style Z28 badges will be roughly $60. A set of the three (you need two for the fenders and one for the rear) of the billet original style Z28 emblems will be roughly $75. I can do the bow-ties (original scale) in billet too. I can also do anything in almost any colour anodize you could want... the bow-tie, the Z28, whatever you want. Just let me know, preferably via e-mail.
These prices are not set in stone, just approximations... but I can guarantee you they will not vary one way or the other more than $10.

To answer your question Mike, I'm an aussie of 36 years but have been living in the US for the last two, so shipping shouldn't be too bad either way.

Thanks!
Mike

I would be very interested in buying 3 of these badges in yellow. If it's possible, id like a hp rating or LS-1 or something cool...
