Seems like 99% of GM dealerships always jack their prices sky high. My friend hit a block of wood in the road and bent his chrome 16x8 factory wheel and they wanted $512 for one.

Yea, my dealer wanted about $1600 for an SS hood. I ended up finding one in our very own for sale section on this board and bought it... I had to pick it up though which was a 4 or 5 hour drive, but the trip and the hood together ended up costing me about $700... and it was a brand new SS hood, still primered with the GM sticker on it.

I have so much alignment probs with my aftermarket hood, it blows. Imight just stick my regular Z28 hood back on for now till I can get a good fitting ss hood.

I had the ASCD and I hate it... I also bought the SS spoiler and had an accident due to the ABS Inop light...

I tried to make a claim with them and their insurance said no relation the ABS Inop with the SS spoiler to it... The completely new SS hood from ASCD cracked on a 6mph hit, Now as you can see, after my claim they no longer sell the CORRECT THIRD BRAKE LIGHT!!!!

AVOID AFTERMARKET AT ALL COSTS!!!! SPECIALLY ASCD...

I have an ASCD 02' SS hood and I love it. It fits perfectly, and looks badass. I got mine for $550. I know what you mean about the oem hood, it's overpriced, even with my lil bros discount it was still like $950!!!! so i went w/ this ascd hood and like i said NO complaints. I don't work for this company I'm not trying to sell for them, but they are the cheapest i could find.

Well... lucky you.. mine came so rough that i had to pay 500 bucks to get it preped and painted... it had a huge dent in the cowl which had to be fixed with fiberglass and resin...

I really think that the quality of MY hood is horrible and I've seen many that are super nice.. but mine was not.. I payed blindly...

I have heard that too. And to me that is just lame. I mean why would you even ship a product that bad off?? I dunno, I have heard horror stories before, but then others say that thier hood came in just fine. I did get in lucky IMO. I was really afraid that mine would come in all warped or something, I got lucky though. I have heard good and bad by about every company that makes aftermarket fiberglass hoods. I did a lot of research before I got mine. The OEM one is definately the best bet, but also the most expensive, but sometimes you find good deals...

1150 to have it shipped to my door.. shipping was 330

So... I got it today and I am MEGA HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! A LOT BETTER than the CRAP THAT ASCD Sold me.. SO MUCH BETTER that I regret having spent 710 for mine... the SS spoiler quality was not good either... the paint doesn't stick smoothly...
