Opinions on what to do with wreck rebuild..

So I hit a deer the other night and tore up the front end of the SS. The car is black, with a blue pearl color stripes that just run on the hood, hatch and spoiler. I'm not too sure how to upload pictures on here or I would upload some to show you guys.

I have to get headlights, a bumper, both fenders, a new grille, foglights and I believe that's about it. The hood has about a 2" crack right above the headlight on the edge by the fender, I believe it can be fixed, but I'm no fiberglass expert. I have a Ram Air II Hood, and the high rise style rear spoiler, 17" Eagle Alloys, clear corners and thats pretty much for exterior mods.

I had the Xenon Body Kit in mind but I'm still clueless on what to get everywhere else. The grille I had was just the billet horizontal type, I was kind of fond of it but not 100% on it. Headlights, fenders, headlights, and foglights I have no idea on what to get.

Any opinions and comments are welcomed, I need all the help I can get. Thanks in advance guys!

The Dear should have taken off the ugly *** spoiler! hahahaha. What happen to the Dear? Its not real bad, looks like you only need the right hand fender, front bumper and head lights. The hood itself just needs to be fixed up.

It looks like you need a new bumper, at least 1 new fender, and a new hood.

If I were in your position, here's what I would do.

I would get the front bumper, fenders, headlight parts, and hood from a '93-'97 Camaro and make your car into the first LS1 '98-02 Camaro that looks like the better looking LT1 Camaros. Then I'd replace the spoiler with the stock SS one assuming you still own it. Throw the hood and other spoiler in the trash or sell them on ebay.

I've been hoping and waiting for somebody to backwards convert an LS1 car into looking like an LT1 car for a long time. And considering a new set of headlamps would cost you about $250, it's practically a bargain, because even a full set of 4 headlamps for an LT1 Camaro is just over $60, and with the other $190 you could probably get a bumper.

Funny, but I think the OP wants some real insight on his problem with his SS.

It's hard to see from the pictures but obviously you need a headlight, bumper, and fender. I'd dig through junkyards or ebay. I really don't like messing with aftermarket body panels. Sometimes you get lucky most times you don't. I couldn't tell from the pictures but what's wrong with the driver fender and headlight?

Try to get some shots of the underside of the hood and the headlight pocket/rad support. You'll probably have a little work there as well.

fasteddie94 - Junkyards are horrible around where I live, everyone I find looks like it's been through a crusher a few times. Not sure how but the drivers side fender broke too, and that headlight got shoved back into a bracket and put a hole in the back of it. Yeah the radiator support is cracked pretty good and bent down my headlight bracket.

And for the spoiler, I like it. I don't want to be a carbon copy of SS's and ever Z28's with the SS hod and SS Spoiler, even if I do like it. Just tried to make somthing a little different.

I dont really want to get aftermarket fenders just because they usually don't fit well at all, does anyone know where I can get a good deal on them? As for the headlights I was hoping there were some nice aftermaket ones, I don't really feel like spendin all that money on used pair that are in horrible shape like most are, let alone a new OEM set. Bumper I would be willing to get and aftermarket, let it be a bumper or body kit, but I' not sure, I'm open to any suggestions on that and the girlle.

I've never seen a backwards conversion either, 99% of the time it's the LT1's going to a LS1 front end. The only thing I don't like about the LT1's is the headlights, I just don't like the litt'e rectangles sitting under the hood. The rest of the front end isn't bad at all. And I def wouldn't trash that hood, I have like $1100 in it! Hahaha
