Question Painting the engine

I was wondering what others have found to be a good paint for the engine. I have painted an engine with duplicolor high temp paint out of a can before and had poor results.

Do you think that a automotive basecoat/clearcoat would be a way to go? I have painted cars before but never tried an engine. Do you think the paint would hold up to the heat? I was thinking of powdercoating it but that cost alot more.

My plans are to BC/CC the block intake and acc. brackets and maybe get the heads powdercoated since they would see the most heat.

Thanks for your help
Aaron

I know people who have used DuPont Imron with good results.

On my truck (show) I wanted the same color block as my exterior - so I had them mix the same paint up into a spray can for me - it has been excellent. Never turned colors or peeled around the headers or nothing - it is still as beautiful as day one.
