Re: Painting interior

Sand the pieces with soapy water (gets rid of the oils on the part while sanding) and any primer should work.

What color you going with?

Re: Painting interior

im a little unsure what color im going with yet, im just gonna try a few colors. im probably going with black. maybe a semigloss. im doing everything like that and if i dont like the look then im getting the whole dash cover with real leather and then just the accent pieces in black. and the door skins im going with T/A door skins and recovering them in leather. instead of the vinyl and carpet that is on them.

i hate the cheap plastic look of the interior but i like the basic design of it so im changing it to what i want. probably take a couple of months before im finished. my aunts company can do custom leather work so im gonna see if she can do it. if not ill try. i promise it will look good whatever id do.

Re: Painting interior

I'm going the same route by bagging and doing carbon fiber. I'll probably be starting in the next couple weeks. :-D Let me know how the leather goes, that should look sweet!

Re: Painting interior

i think if i do it myself i might just mock up the dash pieces in a cheaper material first to make a pattern to cut out the leather. i just have to find something that doesn't have to much stretch. I think the hardest piece will be the drivers side of the dash.
