i have pics on my page, just click the red book below.
i never read anything. i talked wit hfriends and used common sense. the car MUST be preped right or the paint will look like *** and it won't stick right. take your time and don't take short cuts.

IT WAS MY FIRST TIME ALSO. to me it was ez. i do EVERYTHING myself and i also work as a mech. so if you have no talent for this type of stuff then please take your car to a pro. its more technical then it is hard. you make any mistake and it WILL show up sooner or later.

Hmmm, I might wanna try and tackle the task as well. Not on my TA obvioulsy, but my 3.1 could take a make-over. The paints peeling off the hood and not looking all that great everywhere else. Maybe I could convert mine to black from the teal it is now. I really don't go for that color either

Just painted it in my garage (closed up) with a vent fan blowing the overspray out the door. I did get some dirt (dust etc.) in the clear, but i put 5 coats of clear on it.
I just now got around to wetsanding and buffing it, which has taken almost all the imperfections out and made it smooth as glass!! (which you have to use the right grade wetsand paper and the right buffing compounds)
Everybody around here freaks out when i tell them that i painted it in my garage, heck even the place that i bought my paint materials says it looks better than most of the professional jobs done by big shops around here.

I have wanted to do this for a long time also.

My advise for you 350Z would be to go to your library and find some books on this. That's what I did and although some were old there is a lot of basic information in there. I originally wanted to paint my car in the garage as well...but I'm unsure of doing that because it might just be better to rent a painting booth...but finding one to rent should be a whole new story.

Chucky- I never knew you painted your own car...let alone in your garage. Awesome job btw

Oh and this is by no awkward coincidence that I have a teal car...cause I actually love that color...I'd just like to go over it all again. Only bad part of it is that it gets crapped on a lot. I'd love to have my car teal with chameleon flames...
