Pics of hoods with extractor ports?
Anyone here have 98-02 hoods with the extractor ports? If please post a pic. I am thinking about buying one down the road after my deployment. Below is one of the few pics I could find of them online. That's pretty much my dream end state for my camaro. What are peoples' experiences with them? Maybe an obvious question, but does rain get in the engine compartment?
Thanks

94Quasar, I didn't notice the crease until you mentioned it. Interestingly enough, if you look closely you will see that the two pictures are actually if different cars (notice the wheels and blinkers). So apparently that means that they are at least two or more hoods out there with the ports. I also dislike the crease.
This is more of a general question: for those of you that have purchases aftermarket hoods - how often do they line up properly? If there is some significant gapping - can body shops usually fix it somehow?

Good call, agent. I got so fixated on the crease on the first hood that I didn't realize the second actually doesn't have the crease and is a different car, nice eye
I still have my oem hood, but I've heard on numerous threads that the fitment is the fitment pretty much. I'm sure body shops can adjust them to some degree, but basically you're gonna get what you pay for (a $250 hood will only fit as well as a $250 hood and so on).

It's the same hood in both pics. The second pic is poor and from a bad angle, but if you look near the extractors, you can see the center line is still there. It's the Mecham Z29R hood.

I see what you're talking about, TD. That's crazy. You can't even see the crease in the second pic unless you look right in between the extractors or that short section in between the grille and the badge on the nose of the car.

Looks to be like the same hood, but yes different car due to the lights and if I'm not mistaken....looks like the first car has the inspection tag/sticker that you normally see on Texas-registered cars.
Anyway, I like it alot but I'd opt for an SS hood. Just my opinion! Were these hoods with the extractor ports found on 93-97? I'll have to take a look....

98-02 only. I can't think of any places that offer extractor-style hoods for our cars. Everything is either SS, cowl induction, or WS6-style. One hood that I do like alot on the 93-97 Camaros is the Harwood cowl. Most of the cowl hoods on the market have too narrow of a cowl to look right, but the Harwood piece is much wider (somewhat similar to the raised portion of a 96-97 WS6 hood.) A couple guys on here have it.
