Question for SmoothLock owners...should I make a trunk version?

Okay, everyone seems to love SmoothLocks (http://www.smoothlock.com). Just do a search for smoothlock in this forum for testimonials.

Many have asked if I plan to make some for the trunk to match the door lock covers. I am considering it, but I do not want to go through the expense to have them made if no one will use them so I will take a poll to get better insight on it.

One thing to keep in mind...

The current version of SmoothLocks will fit MANY GM vehicles, not just Camaros/Firebirds. Any car with a 1" semi-flat surface on the door lock will work. I even checked and they fit on Mustangs.

The trunk version for the F-Body is a much smaller than the door lock version. This is actually good because that smaller size may very well fit MANY other vehicles. According to my quick measurements, it will go from fitting the back of an F-Car to the door locks of my wife's 2002 Malibu, which means it will probably fit just about every other late model GM car out there. Possibly, trucks, Corvette, etc. I am just speculating and I will have to do some measurements to make sure, but I suspect I am right. Keep this in mind when voting.

Well I am not a smoothlock owner.....yet. I plan to be as soon as I get my new alarm installed, I am using my doorlocks for now. Anyways I think it would be a great idea and I look forward to buying them in a complete set hopefully, if and when they become available.

The reason I didnt buy smooth locks is because i thought it would look dumb if they were covered and the trunk one was not. I really think you should do it. I will buy a set for mine and my dads.

If you do, I'll buy a whole set.

I've been waiting for this I didn't wana just buy the doors.

A discount for a whole set would be sweet!

BTW... Where do you get paint to match your car?

I've got a small bottle of chip touch up paint, but I don't think you'd get a very nice result painting something like this with that.

Just a ballpark estimate but when do you plan on making the truck version and when will the package deal be in affect? I want to get some but theres no point in getting the door ones now and then the trunk one later.

I don't know for sure if it will indeed fit trucks. It was just a speculation. Like I said, I will have to measure some trucks. It will probably fit, but I cannot guarantee it at this time.

Give me some info on your truck, like year, model, etc.

and when will the package deal be in affect?
I don't know if they will even be made. This poll is to find out. If they do get made, It would be at around a month before they would be ready.

I want to get some but theres no point in getting the door ones now and then the trunk one later.
I will probably send en e-mail out to people with a special discount link, but all of this is still up in the air. I'd like to see some more votes before I can feel comfortable about making them. I hope I can!

You guys are actually voting in the poll at the top, right? I don't add posts in the thread to the count. Make sure you vote!
