Is it really possible to dress-up the LT1/LS1 engine bay?

Many replace caps and covers as well as clean/polish, but is there anything truly unique out there? I have seen a few who have cut/hidden the wiring (very cool!), but that may be kind of difficult for the novice, while others have added different intakes, and yet others replace parts w/ polished or billet, but has anyone done or seen anything that is over the top as far as engine dress-up is concerned? Is it just a matter of the right color combinations? Is the aforementioned all there really is?

just detail it to start out. thats one of the biggest problems with these engine bays is b/c no one washes them in fear of the opti.

There really isn't anything major that I've seen for the LT1 that improves its looks. There are a lot of items that clutter its looks though. The only thing I would think about putting on mine is a strut tower brace (painted to match) and a battery top cover to hide the ugly battery. The rest can just be improved by a good and careful washing.

That looks really good! If the strut tower brace was painted to match the rest of your car, I'd say it had the perfect amount of dress up.

Just the general stuff. Hide fuel lines, relocate wiring, cleaning well and painting, scrubing componets.

Have you ever noticed, that when people take a picture of their engine, they always zoom in a little too much?

Do you think it's because about 90% of us are missing that stupid positive terminal battery cover near the front passenger side wheel well?

GM sells a replacement "box"..... even with the cover, its still a rat's nest, particularly if you have a lot of aftermarket parts that require power directly from the battery.

Sometimes, just a bit of polish is enough to make the engine look unique:

This is nice and I haven't seen this done before. Amazing attention to detail, and I believe much of it is custom done like the radiator cover. The fuse box and such looks really cool painted to match the car.

I'm not a fan of the aftermarket radiator cover it has now, but it still looks cool.
