Replacing a fender... questions about painting/etc...
Well a few months back a guy hit me in the school parkinglot. I got some estimated and got $890 in cash. I had to end up using most of that to pay for a lawyer, court fees, and a fine, and the rest for insurance
I'm finally caught up and I'm slowly collecting the money. I'm at about $200 or so now, and should be getting christmas money and more paychecks every other week.
I want to get it fixed for as cheap as possible, and just look somewhat decent.
I have a U-Wrench-It nearby so can likely find a fender so that won't be a problem, and I'm pretty mechanically inclined so I doubt removal/installation will pose a problem. I'll guess $200 at most for this.
I was wondering how hard it would be to paint the fender myself(dad has a spray gun). I have a friend who works at a body shop so I'm sure he can get me the factory color(Metallic Teal). I'm hoping he could possibly even help me out doing it.
I'd just like your guys' input.

I painted a few panels on my car, it wasn't too hard for me and came out really good. I don't think id do it again but you could if you wanted. Most important is keeping a very clean environment and that means dustless air, wet ground to hold all dust, and good lighting. Its a long process that requires a lot of stuff.
You need to prep, prime, paint, clear, wetsand, buff, glaze.
Prep work isn't bad but absolutely need sto be done properly. painting is fairly easy as long as you dont get any runs.
