Shaving my antenna

Well it goes into the shop on May 11th til the 14th. The 1/4 panel had a dent and some scratchs in it from an accident I was in. I decided to get the antenna shaved while it was all getting fixed

400 bucks damn good deal in my oppinion, very reputable shop too. I would do the 1/4 myself but Im a little worried about my skills on a part as important as the 1/4 panel, plus super chevy is coming up at NED and Im entering my car. Im on a rush to finish my front bumper and fenders so Im leaving the 1/4 panel to the pros.

Check out my link and look at my hood if you wanna see my paint work.

Im going to throw it under my subs, Im not really worried about reception since I listen to cds about 99 percent of the time.

If it doesnt work under the subs oh well. Ill take it out.

If you wanna use your radio you should get something like this

http://www.autoloc.com/detail.lasso?itemid=hab

There are some cheaper ones you just have to look

One of my pet peeve's about my 02 firehawk is the power antenna pops up even for CD's. Not to mention I never listen to the radio although the new XM radio sounds alright, except there is a monthly fee.

Disconnect the power going to the antenna if you never listen to it, that way it will never go up. But try a local autobody place. Probably will be about 300 if your cars black, if not youll need blending and it will be an arm and a leg.

You'll need blending on a black car too. Black is going to fade much quicker than white or red.

Black doesnt necessarily need to be blended it is the easiest color to match. I take autobody class at the tech school, black an easy formula to mix up. Where as with other colors, red, yellow, their are big differences.

I had mine shaved, looks 10x better. As for the radio, I usually listen to CDs or exhaust tones.

Exactly, I have a 1000 watt system and I hardly ever turn it past volume 15, I like to hear my exhaust. However on those days with the ttops off 1000 watts does its job nicely.
