Should I Add a Hood and Stripes to my Car or Trade it for a 30th SS?
Ok my car is a '97 Red Z28, I thought about getting a SS hood and adding silver 30th stripes to it. To make it have kind of a unique 30th pkg. But I have found this really nice '97 30th Anniversary SS (White w/Hugger Orange stripes) for sale.
Only problem I have with the SS is that it is an auto, and my car is a 6-speed and I really like my 6-speed. The SS is rare with the 30th pkg. and I've always liked the look.
Should I trade, or keep my car?

DEFINITELY KEEP YOUR CAR. add the hood and stripes if you like.....that should look good... but i traded my 93 6spd for my 94 auto..... now i am going to do a tranny swap.... the t56 is an awesome transmission and i can guarantee that you'll miss it when it's gone... just put the hood and stripes on your car and keep it.

But on the other hand...you get a lot more attention in a 30th anni.
Just earlier I went to the movies and had to get gas on the way over, and a guy comes up and compliments the car saying he loves a good looking Camaro and how the stripes really set it off. You definitely get noticed and lots of the guys from the 1st gen scene really like it's classic touch. (69 Pace Car)

personally i don't like how fat the 30th stripes are.
keep your car and get some stripes from thirdgendecals.com
mine is green with silver stripes, and i get LOT of compliments regardless of color....
if i had a 30th anni, I WOULDN'T want to modify it.... i'd try my best to keep it stock and perfect, but a 97 Z SCREAMS FOR MODIFICATION... your sitting on a gold mine
in any case, this is all just my humblest opinion.... i would take your car ANY DAY over my 94 auto Z28.

I have a 95 and also thought about selling mine for a 30th anniversery, but I decided I'd rather just add the strips and keep my current car. It's all in wheter or not you like your car enough to justify buying another car. My desicion was that I don't plan on ever selling my 95.

'97-'98 Camaro "Bright Purple" 30TH stripes on a '93 "Purple Pearl" Camaro. I used a stencil kit from Stencils and Stripes Unlimited...On a VFN fiberlass "Cowl Induction" hood

Just out of curiosity, how much did that VFN hood cost you and why did you get the 2 inch instead of the 4? I've got a 94 Z and i've been looking for a killer cowl hood to set it off...

I put stripes on my Formula and I love them. I put black Y2K vette wheels on it too. Heres a pic:

keep your car. just put the hood and stripes on. you have this car set to the way you want it, do you want to do it all over again with a new car?
