Question TTop/HardTop Pillar size

Ok I have a question that nobody seems to be able to answer, even autometer themselves cant answer it. I ordered a Hardtop 3 guage pillar for my car, BUT they discontinued them so the only ones in stock are the T TOP version. Well I was wondering what different on the pillar arm of the T top compared to the Hardtop. What makes the Ttop pillar different from the Hardtop Pillar. If its some stupid piece of plastic I have to cut to make it fit thats fine by me, just as long as the arm lenths and rough dimensions are the same. Thanks

They are identical except for the fact that the hardtop pillar piece extends all the way back to the seatbelt mount in the headliner (or close to it) while the ttop pillar piece ends at the front of the ttop and makes a 90* angle up and screws in to the ttop mount bracket. There is nothing different about the width or mounting style (both push on and snap into place). You'd just have to cut off the part that angles upward and you wouldnt have the piece that extends back to the seatbelt mount unless you found a way to stick it up there.
