When did they stop w/windshield wiper aero pieces

Since you've got a car with, and one without, which do you find works better? Are they worth putting ON a car without them, or do you want to take them OFF the car with them? Or do they really make no difference?
............just curious whether I might want to invest in them or not.

They were "distracting to drivers " so they took em off. I like how mine look but, they really do get in the way when they are on. But I'm not taking em off, it doesn't rain all that much here and never use my washer fluid

I'll just order them for the '02. I do find them helpful for small amounts of rain. It avoids the distracting steps in employing the wipers in the midst of a high speed turn, down shifting, avoiding others etc etc. Just one more item I don't need.
Thanks

I should've conditioned my intent to get the covers for the '02 on whether the wiper arms remained the same. If there was a change in the design, I suppose the aero covers won't be a direct snap on job. Are they the same arms?

Don't remove them people, your wipers won't work when your driving over 100mph!!!! lol. That was the original reason GM was said to put them on. When the car first came out, they guarenteed that the wipers would work over 100mph. Kind of stupid to drive that fast in the rain, so they ditched them.

i have them and like them alot, neither my brothers 98 firebird nor dads 2002 ws6 have them, i dont use my wipers much (rain X) so they dont distract me and i think they look better, but dint know they actually did something

my only problem with those aero pieces on the wiperas is that around 115-120 they start to work up the windshield, by the time you hit 135 or so they are usually pulled up enough to go ahead and cycle through and I can't say I like having the sound of dry wipers hopping on the windshield making wierd noises when I'm moving that fast.
Anyone know how to keep those things down at high speeds?
