Pretty sure in some places you can go as low as 5%. In Indiana you can get a Dr. note to get it that low if you have some type of eye condition. I think the legal limit is actually 15-20% though.

Here's something really screwed up. I got a ticket for 20% on my side windows (on the old 97 6banger) in FLORIDA of all places Florida's supposed to be like Nevada and not give a squat!
Plus, it wasn't even a "fix-it ticket" just a fine (I think it was $60). Friggin' robbery. I think the city just needed the money - I left the tint on and was never harassed again. Go figure

Although I never talked to the guy, I heard he had a skin disease where he couldn't be exposed to sunlight. I don't know how true that was, but the only time I ever saw him driving around with his windows down, it was at night.
I'll tell you this, though: That car looked so incredibly awesome. I could not see in, nor could I see light on the other side of the car through the windows. He had some clean aftermarket 18s, black car with BLACK tint. Geez.

Alabama
Visor.......6"
Front doors.....32%
Rear doors.....32%
Back window....32%
You will NOT get a ticket for 20% if the rule is 32%. In Houston, I've seen turquoise blue cop cars with Houston PD written on them.....with 5% tint on all the side and back windows! No wonder people don't get tint tickets in this humid hotter than hell city.
If I can get away with 35% in a place that doesn't allow any tint on the doors (not even with a doctor's note), you'll do fine with the 20%.
Florida
Visor.............as1
Front doors...........70%
Rear doors.........Any
Back window............Any
^^^ Does this seem insane to anybody else?

Why does Hawaii not let you go darker than 35% on any window?

There are diseases like that. If you've seen "The Others", that's a realy disease the kid's had. So he could have something like that.
