Question Set of Bilstiens for $300 shipped, any good?

Okay,
I'm lowering my car with the following,
1)Eibach sportline springs
2)BMR Lca's
3)BMR relocation brackets
4)BMR adjustable panhard bar

I'm also installing a set of BMR tubular SFC's.

Now, I've heard that I should replace the factory shocks when changing the springs so I contacted www.bimmerparts.com. They gave me a written quote for Bilstiens, $165 for the front set, and $135 for the rear set and that includes shipping. So what I want to know is, are the bilstiens any good? Is it worth changing to Bilstiens? Is that a good price?
Thanks in advance guys!

Next to Koni's, Bilsteins are probably your best choice.

I'd say thats a pretty good deal. The best I've seen is $400 shipped for Bilsteins.

You are getting 2 front struts and 2 rear shocks right? If they'd sell to me at that price I'd probably pick up a pair tomorrow.

Yep, that's all 4 shocks, 2fronts and two rears. I'm pretty sure that you'd get the same price as I got. If you go to www.bimmerparts.com you can contact them with what you want and they'll give you a quote.

3rd gen cars have struts, 4th gen doesn't.

It's actually a shock that looks like a strut because there is a spring perch mounted on the body of the shock.

So do you guys think the Bilstiens will work well with my sportlines? Is that a good deal for shocks?

For a street car they will probably be "ok," but for a spring SO freakishly low, it sure isn't alot of spring rate, being so low its also going to be hard for the shock because there is not much suspension travel for the shock to do its job. I'd suggest you get some bumpstops if your Bilsteins dont come with them.

Bilsteins aren't going to get any cheaper any time soon!

WORTH the extra money.

I'll add my vote for the Strano deal, call Sam and talk to him, tell him what you're doing with the car and how its set up. He'll valve them for your setup and probably give you several tips on how to make the car work better. The extra money is worth it for the support and advice you'll get. Sam isn't a national autocross champion for nothing, he knows the F-car and how to make it work.
