2010 Acura ZDX: Look Kidz, Another Crossover

This has to be one of the most hideous front ends EVER....

http://jalopnik.com/5318757/2010-acu...sover/gallery/

If you like fugly-monster styling and expensive uber-niche crossovers, you'll be excited to hear the 2010 Acura ZDX has gotten details to go along with this lot of production intent images. Be afraid.

Congratulations Acura, you've built a weird looking competitor for the questionably necessary BMW X6 and will be pricing it between the $40,990 MDX and $46,830 RL. Pats on the back and huzzahs all around. The ZDX continues the use of Acura's unpleasant schnoz and pastes it on the sedan-UV body, gives it a 3.7 liter V6 good for 300 HP and mates it to a six speed automatic transmission. We were going to pretend to be neutral on this, but it's not possible, it's ghastly. If you should want to find out all the details, check the presser below.

Looks like you can use the grill as a beer bottle opener?

Wow, that is really awkward looking. Don't like the new 'bottle opener' grille theme, as Formula put it... but wow, that rear end really looks hacked together, especially back of the the rear door glass area.

Yeah, its really bad......I think that area must be where the rear door handles are since they are not lower on the door? Or does it not have door handles for the rear doors?

I think this thing has got the Pontiac Aztek beat!

This was all I could think of when I first saw that:

For those interested, yes, that IS from Back to the Future.

oohhhffffff.... They took the BMW X6 and went a few more steps to the ugly side. Good lord. Do the Japanese manufactures employ any design stylists?

I mean who can honestly look at that and go, "I gotta have me one of those!" ????

The Eagle was way ahead of its time.

But back the Acura, seriously, WTF? The BMW X6 is a little weird, but still has some BMW-ness to it that almost works.

This thing is just WEIRD. The new SRX should mop the floor with this thing.

EDIT: The rear roofline almost has some Prius flavor to it. Squint and you can see a highrider Prius or somethign.

They never try to "pretend to be neutral" on bad domestic design.

That thing is grotesque.

^^ While that pic is also worth a laugh, please note that it is a picture of the revised RDX, not the new "ZDX" that is the original subject of this thread.

You know, I must say that the BMW X6 did need some competition out there. I mean, BMW is just raking it in with that model. I think this Acura takes the cake because it is even uglier.
