Looks promising.
I've never been a big fan of the current 350Z from a styling standpoint. This car looks much more muscular (and it does seem to look better than the GT-R, though that's not saying much...). It looks like they left the stupid door handles from the current car, however.
Those wheels / tires look pretty beefy. I'm curious to see the weight of this car, as some rumors were claiming a 200 lb weight savings (of which I am skeptical).

Are you stupid? No production sports car has gone under 7 minutes at the ring that I have ever heard of. Hell, the ZR1 did it in 7:26.4, and that's pretty damn fast. Nissan owns nothing in the performance market, and we'll see how well this fugly thing does against a Camaro when they both hit the streets.

I definitely like the rear fenders - looks like the designer is a fan of 80s wide-body 911 Turbos The nose isn't doing much for me, though.
Nissan should have just stuck the GT-R drivetrain in this package and called it a day.

No I am saying that just because you see many of them and you know someone that has one that it doesn't mean it is a success.
That being said I don't think the 350Z has lit the world on fire like many people thought it would. It is one of the slowest 2 seat sports coupes in its segment. It is heavy, and quite frankly it has stale looks in a segment that thrives on fresh styling.
I am actually surprised that Nissan is keeping it around. The G35 has been MUCH more successful and utilizes the same chassis while providing competitive (in its class) driving dynamics, while probably being a bit more profitable.

Now that would be an impressive car. I doubt Nissan would be able to do it for under $60K since the GTR trans is rumored to be $20k alone. But I bet it would be quite a bit lighter and probably run circles around some very ticked off GTR buyers and for that matter 911 Turbo, GT3 or Z06 drivers too.
