Re: 2012 Jeep SRT-8 info
The fuel economy numbers are so good that the SUV can now travel up to 450 miles on a single tank before needing another drink of dinosaur juice.
The '11 Grand Cherokee has a 24.6 gallon tank, so a range of 450 miles puts the SRT8 Cherokee at around 18 mpg highway. That isn't Ram SRT-10 bad, but it isn't impressive either. Now I know fuel economy would be the last thing to worry about if you're buying one, just saying....

I'm in love with the look of the new GC. It looks very serious.
I do think that Chrysler fully understands what it's doing when it advertises the range at 450 miles. If you're buying this car, it isn't to save gas...so, then the question becomes, since you know it will use gas quickly, how many times will it have to be filled up? If it only has a 16 gallon tank, that's only 288 miles of range, assuming a constant 18mpg. For most people, that's filling up once in just less than a week. Worse if you're on a long distance trip, you feel the need to fill up maybe at half tank not knowing where the next best stop is, etc. Gas guzzlers come with range anxiety too, albeit a different kind.

The best thing that most of the new Mopar designs have going for them is that they don't look cheap anymore. They may still be made cheaply but at least from a design standpoint they no longer look like disposable rental vehicles.

I love when automakers quote the range of the vehicle to tout the efficiency of it. These mileage numbers are meaningless when you don't consider the size of the tank.

Don't get me wrong, I hate jeeps, and most of the owners, but that thing is looking good with the ***** to back it up! I seen my first srt8 jeep only a month ago and when he laid into the pedal, angels were singing!
