This rumor has been out there for a few months. Didn't someone a while back even post that he knew someone at a custom shop in Detroit that was working on a concept Camaro that looked a lot like a 69? GM often brings in custom shops to work on and build concept cars. The did with the Solstice.

I'll be surprised when...

either: A car called Camaro is actually in the show room, OR, GM drops the secrecy BS and levels with us.

I think that when GM decides to bring back the Camaro, they should call it Camaro, in NAIAS etc, from the start..

Imagine GM showing this car, is a Concept Car, and then the say oh is a Corvette.

So I hope to see a Camaro Concept, no a Coupe Concept

And yes GM should stop this secrecy BS soon, bring it Back, be proud..

I hope to see a 1st and Third Gen mix, but if it's 1st Gen retro, I'm not gonna like that much. I'm glad people see what alot of us did for a long time now about the car coming back.

If they come back with a retro camaro like 3 years after ford did a retro mustang..... GM might as well ask Toyota if they are still going to raise their prices to help them out.

If it is a retro 69' design like it seems it will be, then I waited all this time for nothing. I don't want Chevy to become the retro brand like Ford did but seems to be moving away from.

I know how much he loves them.
Retro....not retro....retro....not retro....now its retro again.....damn it sucks being on the same page as Bob Cosby
Are we still leaning towards this car as to what the new Camaro looks like?

I find it hard to believe they still need 3 years to bring it to market. There is no excuse for this. They have been working on this car for quite some time now. Even with pulling all engineers from cars to finish the gmt900s. Seems to me all they would need to do now is find a plant, which from my understanding there are 2 to choose from...(one in canada and one in wilmington?)

I do agree that Detroit would be too soon for a concept (although I would love to see one) for a car 2-3 years from now...thats not like GM...even with all the pressure. I'm still thinking 18 months at the most as an 08.

BTW...whatever happened with this?

Maybe the sooner they show it the better.

If it makes everyone hurl, there's still time for a re-do.

You're not suggesting something before NAIAS are you? That would be ok with me since I will be in Iraq when the show happens. What shows are left...SEMA...any others? wishful thinking.

No. Referring to '06 NAIAS vs '07 or later.

Isn't this the "highest scoring car that GM has ever clinic'd?"

I've pretty much given in to the fact that the new Camaro will be a Mustang copycat and go retro... I really have little belief that it won't look A LOT like a 69 Camaro....

But, are you implying that they are still unsure about the looks of the car??

As one who hopes it does not look retro I will still buy one regardless as long as a Z-28 option that gives awesome performance is available. However if its gonna be retro make it look like a 67-68 or like the big mouthed early Second gens with the split bumper.
