This doesn't surprise me but I am feeling ill with the retro rumors again.

So, it may be retro after all. Hmm, thats disappointing.

If this information is accurate, way to follow again GM, not lead.

Nobody has said definately it's leaning towards retro or revolutionary. Some have just opined that they do not want to see retro (an arguement I really hope this doesn't turn into again).

From what I know this is or very close to the car that was supposedly the highest clinic'ed car, BUT..that was what, 2 years now? Styling tastes and inclinations can change.

Hopefully when we see it, we'll know it's a Camaro. They won't have to badge it or tell us what it will be. It'll be obvious to everyone.

I'm personally hoping Camaro will continue to evolve much like the Corvette.

I've pretty much given in to the fact that the new Camaro will be a Mustang copycat and go retro... I really have little belief that it won't look A LOT like a 69 Camaro....

But, are you implying that they are still unsure about the looks of the car??
It scored high, but that was a few years ago - for a car which is still afew years out.

As long as its RWD, has the LS2, and is available to Canada, I will take it.

Will there be a Camaro concept at January NAIAS? I sure don't know the answer to that, although it sounds like our sources know GM's definitely working on something.

I do know this...the community here and at large is going to be MASSIVELY disenchanted with the whole process if we don't get a CAMARO concept at the '06 show, and if the moratorium on admitting you are actually working on a new Camaro doesn't end.

Its like the worst kept secret in the universe that GM is at least studying Camaro and working on a replacement, yet they won't come out and just admit it.

Are you sure we're talking about the same car?

Think about it, there was a big coupe planned as part of Zeta.

The HHR was supposed to have scored very high as well, right?

I don't know. Are we?

I was referring to the car that Danno saw at the clinic. I believe that was the same design that would have been enlarged to go on Zeta. The only "big coupe" from Chevy which wasn't vaporware was our little coupe. Pontiac and Buick felt that if only our little coupe, could become their big coupe, Chevy could finance their low volume programs for them, with OUR high volume ponycar. The Chevy guys should have cut Buick and Pontiac off at the knees from the get-go..... Well, water under the bridge now.....

Obviously I haven't seen what it looks like, but my impressions were/are, that the same design was being continuously tweaked all this time....regardless of size.

Funny, the term "I told you so" comes to mind. Speaking of retro, "retro" or "styling cues" or whatever term makes you feel better about the car.The disenchanted few will still buy it and GM knows it.

Also...

Up until very recently, Camaro was of ZERO significance to GM. Sure, we had some of our guys pushing for it.....but let's just say it was waaay on the back burner.

Then the '05 Mustang comes along and BAM!, moves almost 200,000 units and sells out before the model year ends. Even the pencil neck bureaucrats took notice. The same dimwitted bureaucrats who were awakened out of their comatose stupor by the sold out 300 the year before.

If you are truly a Chevy enthusiast...send Ford a thank you card for the Mustang and Chrysler for the 300.....these cars created more focus at Chevy than all the years of letters, emails and phone calls that people like us could have ever made.

Where do I send my letter thanking Ford for plunging the Camaro down the path of a copy-cat, dead-end design? (if that actually is the route that is taken.)

Thank you Ford.
Thank you Chevy for showing that you can only follow.

You guys crack me up. Most of the you will complain about even conjecture. No one knows what it will look like yet and people are ripping it already.
