I agree. Based on what I sense the target readership of "Motion" to be, I would suspect it to be more along the lines of the Avalanche, Envoy XUV or Vibe rather than a new version of an existing model.

If it is a Camaro concept, I'm pretty sure we would have heard somthing already, a rumor, a leak from somewhere, but nothing so far. I would be extremely surprised if it had anything to do with Camaro.

I personally don't think it will involve camaro. It would be too weird to go through all the motions of convincing everybody a car line is being killed off, and then 5 months later say 'surprise, it's back'. A lot of people might interpret that as a pathetic marketing stunt.

Yea, Im gonna follow the consensus here and say I'd love it to be a Camaro, but the odds just arnt in our favor.

It would blow my socks off to see a Vette thats not based on the C5, but a total redesign. I cant imagine Lutz just saying restyle the C5 and we'll call it a C6. I just dont see it happening. Im probably wrong, but I really hope Im right. I love the C5, but it would kinda take away from the heritage of the car if the just throw a few new body moldings on it and call it a C6. That would be like calling the 98+ Fbodies the 5th gen.

Maybe the announcement will be a really souped up XLR?

Ok, I know I am going to get a lot of crap for saying this , but...... I really dont give a (insert word here) if the "Camaro" comes back. I just want GM to release a nother RWD 2 door V8 car. If we get a V8 RWD Mote Carlo, V8 Solstice, V8 Bel Air. Just Give me RWD Performance mor Mid to upper 20s. Ill even stretch and pay low 30s If I have to. Ill even take a RWD Atlus Turbo I5. Inlie 3.5L Forged Bottom end. A few bolt ons and that motor could push 400 RWHP. I just want something I can have fun with from GM.

I'm pulling for the Cien. I reeeaaaalllllllyyyyy want cadillac to build this car.

I doubt it's a camaro. If a concept is ready, we'd have heard the smallest news on it beforehand. So far, we've heard nothing. I don't think GM could have kept that tight a lid on it. Something would have leaked.

Well... think about it though... if it is just a concept ... there really wouldn't be too many outside people involved... therefore a possibility of little or no leaks.

BTW: I love Cien as well... BUILD IT! Problem is... how many people will pay that price?

GM has been playing with RWD V8 concepts for a while now.

The Bel Air- Power train test mule
Nomad- RWD V8 2 door (Next gen Camaro test bed ?? possible)
Slostice- Get public reaction to make a small RWD platform Possible
CTS- We know there will be a cpe version aroun 07 or later. It has to be built on something.
XLR/C6- We know GM is willing to sharew the platform.

Could this be a Ion Coupe that we have seen sketches for? Or maybe a Chevelle counterpart for the GTO?

I think the GTO will be the only Holden import we will see. The platform is on the older side and soon to be replaced by the Global Sigma. The RWD Monte we keep getting wind of will most lily be the platform for a future GTO/Chevelle ect.

After thinking what would be the biggest suprise GM could show is a NA version of the Opel Speedster. I REALLY doubt it would be brought to the states but it would be huge. Fiero fans across the world would be very happy. But I don't think it will happen.

Post Could be anything....

I'd say it might be a Camaro. Concept cars normally don't have that much outside influence. Want an example? Okay, what else have you heard is going to be at Detroit this year? Besides the obvious GM press releases. So, it is possible. Besides, remember how quiet they kept the C5, and it was a production car.

It COULD be the C6, but I for one think it is still a bit too early for that. Not to count it might take away from the launch of the XLR.

As for the Cien. I don't think we've heard the last of it. Afterall it was JUST SHELVED, not killed. And it would help Cadillacs image too much, not to at least consider it. Especially since Ford is making the GT40.

The Solstice progression from concept to production has been no secret at all, so that won't be it.

I doubt it'll be anyhthing signifigant concerning the Impala or Monte Carlo. At least not this early. And I'd hardly consider the new SS versions HUGE surprises.

The Malibu, HHR, Malibu SS, Colorado, and Equinox are all known to supposedly make an appearance. And the cladless Avalanche was shown to the public in Texas.

The GTO, and GX/P are certainly not secrets.

Buick is being awfully quiet....... And Cadillac has leaked about their XTS V12 super sedan.

I doubt it'll come from Saturn, and the fact that they want to produce the Sky has already hit press.

So, who knows? All I can say is; I'm VERY excited!

I can see it now....the big unveiling in January of....

The Chevy Suburban XXL!!!!

This Full-full sized SUV features a new 10 liter diesel engine and room for 15 adults, or 18 8-year old soccer players.

I'm thinking something like a concept Chevelle would have a better chance than a Camaro right now. I'm skeptical when it comes to commitment to Camaro at GM, and they really aren't giving me reasons not to be...
