Crossfire SRT-6

From thecarconnection.com

The Crossfire SRT-6 will pump 330 horsepower and go zero to 60 mph in just over five seconds. In a video Chrysler showed, the Crossfire SRT-6 bested the Porsche Boxster. The two-seat convertible Roadster edition will follow.

From SRTforums.com:

SRT-6 Crossfire
Supercharged 3.2 V6
330HP
0-60 in 5.0secs estimated
155 mph top speed (electronically limited)

It has a fixed rear spoiler, and sportier wheels and tires. That is about the only difference in the looks. Pricing is estimated at just under $40,000.

THis little car will fly with that much power, it is already somewhat quick with only 215HP

C32 cost $53K and weighs 3540lbs.

Crossfire only weighs 3050lbs. With 330HP this car is going to be real fast. I think it is about time too, I always thought this car was underpowered.

This cars should be about to get into the high 12's stock

Easy mid to high 12's. The SLK32 was running 12.9@109 in Motortrend and it weighs a few hundred punds more.

At under 40K it's a steal. Maybe even a C6 fighter.

This doesn't surprize me at all. PVO will eventially have a high performance version of EVERY vehicle Chrysler makes (yes, I said every).

In the very near future, there's going to be some major competition between Ford's SVT & Chrysler's PVO. Both have simular structures & purpose, and the heads of both know each other & have a bit of competition between them.

This might pump a bit more excitment into Crossfire!

Pricing is critical though, IMO... can't tred into Corvette territory.

Guion do you have any info on the Chrysler Slingshot that AHAH posted about on Cheersandgears? I think this thing looks very Razor/Crossfireish.

Last word was the Razor was headed to production under a different name with the turbo 4 as top power.

But this was moving along with the Dodge M80 which was also headed to production till DCX did a flip-flop on a Canadian plant where it was to be made.

M80s cancelled, the Razor I haven't heard anything lately, but I'm assuming it's still on.

Is this the Mercedes engine?

What do you want to bet that in the Crossfire it's a coarse, unreliable POS . . . and in the Mercedes it's a fine example of bulletproof German engineering?

I'll be waiting to read this in Car & Drivel!

Hopefully some of this Mopar performance will jump start GM's effort into getting some hp out there.
