At the price they sold for I would have thought they made money on everyone. It was a stupid idea to start pricing them so far above the competition. It lost its way. I think the GXP and Redline were way over priced. The original idea was a 20k car. I dont think the GXP added 15k worth of equipment.

What 2 seat RWD convertible was selling for less than $20k??? How about a turbo version for $26k? Miata wasn't any cheaper.

It may be unreasonable to expect that Aveo or Cruze will get very expensive performance packages which require different engine families, transaxles, etc.

I'm thinking whatever happens, will need to be done based around the already available Family 0, 1.4L turbo. Pumping it up to 170-175 horsepower would match the Mini Cooper S. In fact, maybe Chevy should go out and buy afew Mini's in order to benchmark whatever they're going to do with the Aveo.

175 horsepower 1.4 turbo, upgraded chassis/brakes/wheels/ some bling bling bits. Hey we've got a package here folks. Just like Mini, these cars will cater to people looking for a fun and entertaining daily driver. I betcha it'll still get 39 mpg.

What family is the 1.8L? I thought that was the same as the 2.0L Ecotec.

You can get Family 1 up to 1.8L. 2.0L's are all Family II.
