I'm prety sure you could'nt even buy the GTO in Canada, due to the lack of bumpers I believe.
Souped up Grand Prix, huh?

Tell me, did you eat alot of paint chips as a kid?

Nevermind..... got my answer.

Recheck your GTO history. Test tomorrow.

And on my not driving the GTO. I have'nt driven it, because they don't even sell them in Canada. As stated before I heard it having something to do with only having one shock absorber or something, ultimately not passing Canadian safety standards.

Cheers
You are correct here.

The United States repealed their 5 mph bumper impact standards some years ago, allowing cars with 2.5 impact (and a more liberal damage allowance) to be sold here. Canada, on the other hand kept the 5 mph impact standard.

Because of this, and the miniscule number of GTOs that would sell in Canada, GM didn't invest any money to upgrade Monaro's bumpers to Canada's standards.

When you think about how much work and money would have to go into doing anything that involves collision standards, can't really blame them.
