Since this is getting technical I thought I'd throw in my $0.02. There is one instance where non-ABS braking systems are superior. In certain conditions of snow and gravel completely locking the wheels is best as it forms a wedge in front of the tires, which leads to shorter stopping distances. In these conditions there is little to no control whatsoever without this wedge so even trying to steer the vehicle is futile.
That being said I think ABS should be standard, especially on a high performance vehicle. I absolutely love the fact that my car is designed to brake as well as it accelerates... time to get bigger brakes however

Sooooooooo........about that t-tops thing I'd prefer not to have them. Even when my girlfriend still had her Camaro with t-tops we rarely ever used them. They are not a make or break option for me. I can enjoy a Camaro, V8 or V6, just as much without t-tops as with. And for the comments that V6 buyers don't buy for performance, I don't find that to be true in all cases. I see V6 Camaros all the time that have exhaust, headers, etc. in order to increase the performance of their vehicles. Maybe they couldn't afford the V8 or the insurance but still wanted something sporty. Are you going to tell me that they don't care about performance? They bought a Camaro, a car that is inherently known for it's performance. Even if they just bought it for the looks, who doesn't like to mash the throttle once in a while? These are the people who are modding their V6s. Hell, if we could convince people that the V6 F-bodys are still a viable performance vehicle we would probably see less of these damn ricers who think their coffee can exhaust, K&N filtered Civic is a performance demon, even though it still can't keep up with the V6 F-body musch less the V8 ones

One of the big probs you hint at is the F-body is bought buy kids and folks looking for cheap speed. Margins are thus slim. The Camaro at best is/will be an afterthought built on a chassis designed for some other application. Chrysler can afford a new Viper because it can charge enough to make the process worth their while.

There's still people around here that think V6 Camaros & Mustangs are just only bought by women!
I've been pointing out for a couple of years that 60%+ of V6 Mustangs and Camaros are bought by men, but they'd rather believe that ricer cars like the Eclipse & Celica (only 40-45% bought by men) are what younger men really are driving.
You just might break someone's blissful ignorance if you keep that up!
BTW: I see this thread has brought heaps of people who normally don't post here! You guys really need to stir things up more often!

Good post---what ticks me off is they totally abandoned a market--and it's not the first time either.
One more thing--you should include Firebird numbers--75,000 F-bodies last year? Not too far of a leap to say if they only brought back Camaro--those Firebird guys would buy it.
