Malibu + Slalom testing = "Hello, this is Onstar, did you get into an accident?"

Does anybody else find it odd that they equipped the Accord and Camry with navigation and several other toys that aren't even available in the other two cars, then turned right around and talked about how expensive the Accord and Camry were compared to the others? lol
I was very surprised to see the Camry come in last. I guess it all depends on your preferences, and seeing as how Motor Trend drivers are performance enthusiasts, I'm not surprised to see they hated the Camry.
Given the choice between the Camry and new style Accord, I'd take the Accord in a heartbeat- it's much more exciting to drive, has much more responsive performance and incredible chassis dynamics, not to mention things like the guages, navi, and ergnomics aren't even found in some cars twice the price.
But at the same time I think the Camry deserves a lot of credit as its definitely the quietest, smoothest riding, best-built and most likely will be the most reliable of the bunch both short-term and long-term.
The new Malibu also seems to be a big step up from the previous generation too. Although time will tell if it holds up better than the previous generation that was plagued with random issues- especially electrical gremlins which can be a bigger PITA than anything else on a car because they're so hard to track down and point out sometimes.
I'm just surprised to see a Mitsubishi in 2nd place. Have they made some sort of dramatic turn-around in the last year or two because most 2 year old Mitsus I've see and every last 5 year old Mitsu I've seen has been a POS on wheels.

I'd agree Camry is a good car, but it's just sooooo bo-ring!!
I've driven one more than a few times and it's the equivilent of going to Baskin Robins and ordering a single scoop of vanilla in a cup! That's right....not even the cake cone!!

I noticed that too Threxx---if they couldn't get a Camry for $26.000 then they should have just pretended they did.
Bashing it for the price when it was totally loaded up with options is just dumb. Even M/T thought it had no soul.
Given the choice between the Malibu and the Camry--I'll take the Malibu--throw on a cat-back, some nice looking 17' rims/tires and lowering springs.
