Motortrend Site: 2007 Chevrolet Corvette
2007 Chevrolet Corvette: The Corvette team has cooked up a Ford GT fighter known internally as the "Blue Devil." Packing a supercharged 427-cid V-8 and extensive carbon fiber, the Blue Devil is being considered for production.
Found on future vehicle section on web site. Nothing on Cumaro.

Back to subject, since I didn't see the first thread on this, I find it interesting that they decided to blow the 427. I guess they couldn't get enough performance N/A with a bigger displacement. Either way, looks like it'll go like stink.

Ford created a whole car in 18 months & it's going to take GM till 2007 just to develop a version of an existing car.
Am I the only one who see something wrong with this?

No. I think it is little crazy too.
BUT.... I can see the reasoning... launch the C6 in MY2005, pump it up in 2006 with the Z06, then deliver the sucker punch with the MY2007 Blue Devil.
Launching all at once steals some of the "upgrading" thunder for the line...
EDIT: Something I find crazier than this is how long it takes to launch an all-new vehicle like the HHR, which is a competitor to a car that has been out for years already...

The 2005 Vette is already a big upgrade from the 2004 and the 2006 Z06 will draw even more attention to the Vette and Chevrolet. I can understand the reason for spreding out new Vette products to keep the line up fresh. If the Blue Devil came out this fall it would steal all the good press and attention form the Z51 and Z06. Then in two years no one would have anything new to talk about.

Seems that we are anticipating more like 475 - 500 HP for Z06, and that's about 100 HP less than GT (530 at the wheels we read). Doesn't look very likely that C6 Z06 will handle the GT.
On another note, when will C6 be sold?

I also thought that 385HP Z06 had a bump of only 35 HP, later upgraded to 55HP. More than 100 HP this time? Cool.
