Again...I'm still guestimating 500HP max. And thats all any of us can go on right now, is speculation. Except maybe a few of us that know whats going on inside the project right now. To me, I'd be fine with 550. But trying to market 550 HP in only a year or so is too much too soon for the Corvette IMHO.

No one denies that it wouldn't be hard for a 427 to peak at that number. But theres still the question of if they will even use the 427. All we've heard are some rumors that any gear head behind one of these screens could have conjured up.

Me too...and I see just about every thread on here

[extended reply] GM ussually takes gradual, non-panicy steps. The last thing they want to do is start pissing off the EPA even more by increasing HP a ton but leaving gas milage alone. Not to mention if a Democrat is elected president, might even put more push on short-term CAFE #'s. I think GM will play it safe and not do what they can do, but do what they should do to keep everyones jobs safe and not cause any alerts. Remember, the Z06 is not just some miniscule sold vehicle. It sells relatively well to other vehicles with similar performance. So it does have to keep in line with a number of things, including not scaring away too many potential buyers with an astronomical torque level that might leave these potential buyers in a coma after their test drives.[/extended reply]
