May be in the minority, but I really like the interior. Moreso than Mustang or Challenger. The thing that surprised me is how big the car appears next to other cars. The lack of headroom in the back surprised me too. I'm only 5'9", and my head is in the headliner. That being said, it will probably be more or less a daily driver for me and date night with my wife, so it will be fine for short trips with the whole family (2 kids).

Based on the reviews of the 6, I'm leaning toward a white RS with black cloth, but waiting to get to test drive an RS manual before deciding for certain.

It was way before my time but i wonder if in 1969 and 70 people sat in cars and critiqued the interior...gaps, and other things like that. Or, if when i start to age I will pay really close attention to those things.
Seeing the Camaro in person completely blows me away. It looks evil. It looks fun, and looks incredibly fast. My only problem is that Camaro vs Challenger, the challenger I think makes the camaro appear over done. If I was choosing between either car, it would definetly be tough. My gf would probably shoot me in the foot for saying this but Ide probably go with the Challenger. I have a soft spot for large rwd coupes.
I really dont see the value in getting a new car right now, and will be more looking towards one at 2-3yrs old.

I just drove by the dealer last night and they had one inside (black SS)...it was already sold. I couldn't sit in it, but it was the first one I saw in person. I haven't been a fan at all based on pictures etc. Seeing it in person I was pleasantly surprised...the proportions looked much better.

For now I'll be sticking with my vette though.

I love the interior, especially more than the exterior...

Killer styling, check
Looks big, bulky and heavy, check
Useless mail slot on the nose is still silly, check
Tires too skinny for the mass/size, check (for example of what I mean, see pic below)
20 inch wheels just not my taste, check
Cringe worthy awful interior, check, really just terrible
The first Camaro I wish I could like but can't, check

Yup, no surprises. Fell short of my expectations. Looking forward to a possible 6th gen and hoping they address some of the above.

Tru'dat, the F5 seems as if it should come with a minimum of 275's all the way around (and say 10 inch wide wheels) and the Stagger should be 275's up front and 305's in the rear.

One thing nice about all 3 cars though, at night you'll be able to tell who is coming up or who your meeting head on (well with the possible exception of V6 Mustangs and Camaros if the driving lights are off).

since when are 275's are too skinny??? Challenger R/T and Mustang GT only have 245's. 20"s look perfect on the car.

There has never been a better performance value than the 5th gen. 426HP for $30K

It seems like the enthusiast crowd was let down by this one. I call it "Metallica syndrome". They will never release another "Puppets". GM, due to the Zeta architecture, couldn't get us a lighter Camaro. And the interior is very polarizing. I think all of us Camaro homers expected the second coming of the '69 Z-28 with a 500 horse LS7 costing 25k...and instead we feel like we got the second coming of the '87 305 w/auto IROC-Z (or "Reload") ...good, but could've been a lot better.

-Just to clarify, I was pleasantly surprised by the car. I wish there was a V6 RS nearby that I could get a decent deal on as I am in the market for a new car.

The V6 exceeded my expectations. The SS met them. Still holding out for the Z28.

I will 100% agree that the V6 car has completely exceeded my expectations. I put a RS LT way ahead of a SS.

The most important thing to me is price. Cars should not cost 20,30,40k dollars. There is no justification for it.

It met my expectations. The exterior is great, the interior isn't. I don't absolutely have to have it.

I'm continually amazed by the bizarre, logically inconsistent opinions I see here. You do realize (maybe not?)... wide rims/tires are heavier, right? So you want to make the car even heavier with fat tires up front? The new Camaro's handling is optimized as is, and there's no actual need for wider front tires. And BTW, I've had 275's on the front of my 99 Formula... they're no joy to live with on rutted pavement or when parking in a crowded urban parking lot.

...I suppose you also wouldn't like the 235-series front tires on this car

Same here.

I hope this one sells, but it's not something I have any desire to own.

Eagerly awaiting the 6th gen.....

I'll jusy fiddle around with my 3rd gens until then.

I have no issues with the interior and don't care about the "mail slot". The front of the car is fabulous, the rear is ok. The overall stance is outstanding. I have no need, use, nor desire for a wheel that is 20" in diameter (color me old school, if you like), but I could live with it.

What I can't live with is how physically BIG the car is. I guess I expected it though. Sadly.

And LOL at BDD. Heaven help you if you have an OPINION that doesn't pass his superior logic test! Too funny.

Me too. And that's before I get to the interior or 3900 pound weight.

A couple of weeks ago, at a local cruise night, a 5th gen was parked with an '82 Mustang GT on one side of it and a 4th gen Camaro on the other side. Afew of us were just staring in amazement at how physically HUGE the 5th gen was, compared to the cars next to it. It reminded me of a 1/25th scale model car, being place next to a row of 1/32 scale models.
