While the the current Camaro is a bit big..if you look at how cars have grown today vs. ten years ago it is not out of line. I never thought I would see a 3500lb Mustang..and that is with a solid rear. Either way...just like I go to Orioles games when the team sucks...I think if you really care about anything in live you have to support it, even when the product is less than ideal.

IMO, By hurling insults, and stomping you feet over how you won't buy a Camaro after 10 years of hardcore beating the drum, you are diluting what your opinion means to GM rather than increasing it.

Sorry Branden, I think you are pretty full of it (and yourself) with this post. I am neither hurling insults nor stomping my feet. In fact, on your previous post you accused me of being a 'hypocrite' and 'shortsighted' for moving on and pinning my hopes on the 6th gen. So which is it?

How liberating it must be to be so unencumbered by reality. The Camaro is BIG. Accept it. I do. I don't know what all this denial is about, but it's pretty freakin' ridiculous here.

As far as diluting what my opinion means to GM -- well, that's laughable. I've got some news for you bud, my opinion doesn't mean jack to GM. Your opinion doesn't mean jack to GM.

You think I'm "presumptuous" and "selfish" and "turning up my nose" (who was it that was talking about hurling insults? You?) at the new Camaro - spare me.

I've lobbied just about as hard as anyone else has for the Camaro. I think even the casual observer will agree, that I was hoping for something different.
An anology I might use here is of someone going to a legendary steak house for a NY strip steak. The waiter, in exquisite detail, asks the customer, exactly how they'd like their steak prepared. The patron, a great fan of NY strip, eagerly responds and doesn't mind waiting a looooooooong time for it to be cooked and plated. Finally, after many hours, the waiter returns with a fatty hunk of mutton, and then Branden tells the patron, "that's what you've wanted a-hole, now eat it you ungrateful, presumtuous, selfish, shortsighted, hypocritical, nose upturning son of a b!tch".

All I'm asking for is basically a modern 1LE package. It's really no different than the Z51 package for Corvette. There are even parallels to the Z71 and Z66 truck packages. Why is it so laughable that they would make something similar for Camaro today?

i also think a "1LE" package would be a great addition to the camaro and a money maker as well.

I'd like to see it, but I doubt it would make money.

I see where he is coming from, seems you make your mind up before you give something a chance.
Two quick examples of this are 2nd post on this thread
I knew I wouldn't like the interior from the time we saw those initial cobbled up mule pics.
Also the still-born Z28. Its not your ideal Z28 because of the "weight"
But yet here was your opinion of the larger & heavier CTS-V
The thing about the CTS-V is it's so calm and collected cruising around town with the XM classical music station on. Put your foot in it though and O.M.G. the LSA kicks you in the gut like a Bruce Lee side kick. Literally, it takes your breathe away. And the speedo needle sweeps from 40 to 100 in the blink of an eye.

This car is simply BRUTALLY fast. Loved it!

I'd say your wrong. And even if you weren't (which you are), so what?

Yes, I loved that fullsized, fully contented, 4 door, 5 passenger, luxury, Cadillac sedan. Newsflash, that's a not a Z/28. I love my brother-in-law's Powerstroke diesel work truck too -- nope that's not a Z/28 either. Loved the Mini Cooper too....well, you get the idea.

Fact is you said you made up your mind when you saw the picture of the cobbled up mule.

And because "this" z/28 car that doesn't exist would weigh too much you dont like it. Yet you have never driven it & possibly never will. You mind is already made up.........thats my point.

Also, I never said the CTS-V was a Z/28, but it does have THE z/28 motor.

Fact is....

When I saw those mule pics, I didn't like what I saw, but wanted to see a production version before a final verdict. Now that I've seen/sat in/touched/checked out about 15 or so production Camaros, I know my initial impressions were correct. But like I said, so what? What's this obsession with what is or is not my decision making process. It is what it is and the Camaro is what it is.
I'm not forcing anyone to feel the same way. I can have my opinion, you can have yours ---- right?

Or is that not possible?

Yes, you can have your opinion which I respect. I usually enjoy your posts. When it comes to the new Camaro they seem to always be negative (which is your opinion and is fine).
As far as I know you have yet to test drive one. Based on your logic you shouldn't like the CTS-V since it is large & heavy. You drove one and "loved it".
You remind me of an English teacher. The new Camaro doesn't meet your definition of a pony car so it is wrong. Same with the z28. Given a chance to drive/own one I'm sure you would enjoy it. Maybe even love it. Seems you are able to like the 3rd gens & they are light and handle well but are slowand have a horrid interior with the "hump" on the passenger side extreme hard plastics ect.

Once again you have driven all of these. If you hadn't you probably wouldn't have "loved" any of them. Makes you forget the negative things since none of them are perfect.

Yes, I liked the CTS-V for what it was. Have no misconceptions though, it is a large, heavy car. It's exciting driving a beautiful, 556 hp car - even one weighing 4200 pounds. But that's not the sort of excitement that lights my fire for very long. For me, smaller, lighter cars are far more fun. The CTS-V makes for a great Cadillac, but it would be a sh!tty Z/28. I'm not sure why that's so hard to understand.

Your opinion on the CTS-V is clear, however I'm not sure where you keep getting that I'm saying it is the Z28? Granted it would have the same motor, but far from the same car.....

I think I can speak for most on here. We know you are not happy with the size or weight. You have said that loud and clear.

I'm not going to change your mind nor is anyone else on here. Drive one then give us your constructive feedback....
