Are Pontiac Dealerships Retarded? (G8 related)
#61
Well, just got back from test drive. Seems they are loosening up a bit; could be because the first G8 GT they received almost 6 weeks ago is still collecting dust (now in front of the dealership, not in the showroom). Very impressed with overall ride/handling/steering; very quiet on the freeway, too. Except for the major rattling from a piece of moonroof switch trim, which was only bad on bumpy roads. Another good reason to avoid the moonroof (the others being cost, weight and headroom). I also noticed that the HVAC/radio screen was a bit hard to see on a sunny day with sunglasses on; needs to be brighter. Overall, a nice car. The interior quality certainly wasn't up to BMW standards (as some have hinted) but is perfectly in line with the cars price-point. Next step will be when they get rid of the ridiculous "market adjustment" stickers.

the local dealer here had 3 of them a few weeks ago and are down to one. i finally got to stop by and take a closer look. after talking to the sales guy he gave me that whole speach about this is a specil car and its bringing in a new crowd and mentioned how i drive a jetta and came to look at it, and one of the cars they sold the guy tradded in a TL(but i didnt notice a used one on the lot) and he seemed very positive about hte whole thing. there was no dealership mark up and i would be completely sold on this car except for the fact that i dont think the seats are bolstered enough. that and the leather feels cheap to me. i think if they would have done more of a straight swap with the GTO seats and leather i would but this thing in a heart beat.

Ahh Sydney, least you got to stay on the north side.
Everytime I went up there to work was stuck in bloody Parramatta.
