It's a "history thing" again...

Couldn't they call this new buzz-car battle "puppy-car wars" or "bumble-bee wars"? ANYTHING but Ponycars, regardless of the context of the article.

I'm in the boat with guionM and kizz on this one...

D*mn, I guess I have to throw away my 'Pony' shirt now, since it also stands for every other sporty affordable car on the market....

You know whats weird about this whole thing.Back in the 60's Mustangs and Maro's were labeld as sport compacts.

I do not agree with calling them pony cars. However, I have to admit the WRX vs Evo competition is getting pretty cool. Hopefully GM, along with a 5th Gen Camaro, will put together something similiar to a WRX. My biggest complaint with the whole bunch is they all have 4 doors .
Dodge: SRT-4
Mitsu: Evo
Subaru: WRX
Ford: SVT Focus
Honda: Civic Si
Acura: RSX-S
Nissan: Sentra SE-R
GM: ????? 140 HP J-body?

I've never understood the fascination with the number of doors a car has. Who cares if there's four (or five)? If the car looks good, has an exciting powertrain, and handles well, don't sweat it.
