Saw a few test cars today.
Im pretty sure they were one of the new chrysler concept cars. Looked like a 4 door sedan. It was all covered up. I saw them on the freeway going the other way. There were 3 of them, each about 30 seconds behind each other. It was kinda boxy up front with a big crossfair looking grill. the tailights were kinda round. When i first saw them, i thought of this concpet car:

I was able to get one picture of them. And the camera wouldnt take a shot until it was really far awar, and it is kinda blurry. ill get it up tomorow.
http://www.auto.com/photos/gallery/s...super8hemi.jpg
is another picture. it looks a little different from what i remember tho.
It also had Michigan plates.

The picture i got was really REALLY crappy. the digital picture wouldnt take the shot for a long time, so it is far away and blurry as hell. DO u have a picture of the intrepid replacement Ted? The one big thing that stuck out was the grill. it looked alot like the one in the picture above. big square with a t crossbar that is the dodge signature grill i guess u could say. Ill get the picture up in an hour or two.

WOW, that is a pretty bad picture. But still, better than nothing.
I don't have any pics of the Intrepid replacement, but judging from your description, that is most likely what it was yiou saw.
The new cars are supposed to be taller, and have the big crosshair grille.
If I may ask, where did you see these cars?
PS
A guy by the name of Brian husek sent me a cleverly photoshoped image of what he thinks the new cars will look like some couple of months ago. While they don't necessarily acurately depict the new cars, a few of the themes may be present in the real vechicles.

Pretty funny you mentioned you saw a future model. I was up in San Francisco and got to see the new Nissaan SUV. They had a portion of Post street blocked off, and had a vehicle parked with it's front covered, all it's badges taped, and alot of cameras & photo equptment around. After I was there about 5 minutes, another undisguised one drove up. Inside, the gauge area looks just like the new 350Z.
I'm guessing they were shooting for brochures. Earlier this summer, they held up traffic in front of the San Diego convention center to film another odd looking SUV. I couldn't catch what it was, but it is also odd looking.
There are some people who really wouldn't believe how many yet to be produced cars actually are running around SoCal. But that Dodge you caught is probally the biggest fish so far.

Just looking at the taillights alone, that looks like a Nissan. Notice that it has a round orange bulb and a round red bulb too?
http://www.nissandriven.com/m/cma/i/...taillights.jpg
Those are Altima lights.
And those look so similar to those lights, I'd be sure that it is a Nissan.
A Nissan 2+2 car? I'm guessing the USA version of the Skyline is what you saw.

Actually, It does look a bit like the next Maxima.
I compared it to the spy pics from a while back, and the rear looks simular.

In Torrance you have both Nissan's & Toyota's USA headquarters, and I believe Mazda's is also in that area. In addition to that, Lincoln-Mercury is now based out of Orange county, GM has a design studio up in North Hollywood, and I believe Nissan still has a design studio in northern San Diego county, by Oceanside.
