A thought on Pontiacs v8 rwd future...
Personally, I am not entertaining any notions of the Trans Am, or Firebird for that matter, coming back...
But I had a thought... stop me where I'm wrong...
The original GTO was an option package on the pontiac tempest before it became its own model...
It would be cool if they followed that logic took an option package from a more modern car and made it its own model...
Personally, I would love to drive a "Pontiac WS6"...
it keeps with pontiac's alphanumeric model names (G6, G8. etc...), and gives a nod to past icons, without jumping on the bandwagon and directly bringing back a name, Firebird, Trans Am, GTO, or otherwise
just a thought...

Yes I think that if Pontiac is going to insist on alphanumerics, they could at least use some good ones.
I was thinking that instead of naming the next Grand Prix "G8" they ought to entertain "GTP." Although this acronym is currently being used on the G6, it is pretty synonymous with the high performance Grand Prix. My friends - mostly import people - will ask me about my car saying, "How's the GTP?"
This would be very similar to the transition of the Seville to STS, the name of its high performance trim.
Than they could have a coupe version of the GTP - the GTO.
Sometimes I wonder why Pontiac doesn't just fire their entire marketing dept and hire me.
