Yeah, they stopped making them
They stopped making Chevelles (ones that mattered to me anyhow) in 1972, and their isn't any shortage of cars, parts, or folks who put the two together. Reading stuff on the web lately makes it seem like all the F bodies left the planet. Their isn't any shortage, and theirr won't be a lack of parts. Just enjoy what ya got until it returns, and keep them in one piece.

Sorry but have have you tried owning a 1982 before casually saying there is no lack of parts?
I can find just about ANYTHING I need in NEW condition for ALL 1st gen, ALL 2nd gen, 85-92 3rd gen.. and ALL 4th gen, and that includes most special editions. 82-84 is HANDS DOWN the most neglected time period. Have fun with your 88 and 93 because those parts are dime-a-dozen, while the parts I need are only available in UV-bombarded junkyards on a very lucky day.

Yup, 82-84 is difficult, not as much for the Camaro as the Firebird of course, but it still is.
The F-Body is a different thing than the Chevelle and the other musclecars. It has more history and its name has more meaning. What they did wasn't right and it should have never happened. GM has lots of money, they should be able to afford people who know what they're doing, they should be able to stop things like this and keep the competition going. Do they not realize what they did?! This is and will be 1 of the stupidest things/mistakes ever in the automotive industry. This is the Camaro and Firebird we're talking about here, not just any car. This is a car the MEANS something with a 35 year legend. A car that every1 knows and so many people like. You DON'T just stop making a car like that. Thats idiotic. Even if they didn't sell like the previous Gens, they still sold a good/good enough amount compared to other cars, and still, you can go and make the things that need to be done right to get the sales instead of just leaving things. You have to work for the car and not just let it work for you, it has to be focused and concentrated on all the time. Now the better of the 2 competitors is not playing anymore and its up to the previous Gens. And thats OK in some ways, but this entire situation should be way different than it is.

Camaro/Chevrolet crazy F-Body lunatic.

I think there is more parts for 82-84 than 74-81. Those both are tough yaers not many people make things for those sets of years

I WOULD RATHER PUSH A CAMARO THAN DRIVE AN IMPORT
1983 Z28- 406ci
LT1 intake
AFR 195's
1995 Z28- 350ci
A4, leather, T-tops bone stock for now.
250 RWHP 300 RWT
14.0 @ 99 MPH on a 2.2 60'

Valid points, but the longer the car is out of production, and demand is there, the parts will come about. Look at the 55-57 Chevies. You can practically build a car from new parts. I had a hard time finding parts for my 70 bird, but always managed to get what I needed. If GM doesn't make any more F bodies, and doesn't want to listen to the customer, maybe we should talk to the parts suppliers. I'd like Year one to make seat covers for our f bodies, and told them so. If enough people do things like that, maybe we'll get them.
