HAHAHA!! What a joke! All you had to say to save your credibility was that you repaired the radiator that got damaged after you refunded the money then put it up on ebay after it was fixed. But at least your honest about lying

You want to explain how he was able to leave a feedback if the reserve wasn't met. Is it possible you forgot to set the reserve. If something dosen't sell for as much as you though it would, you can't just back out of the deal.

you got to cut this guy a break though, all you guys are running all over him, say you put 12K into your car and a guy won it on ebay for 5K because you accidentally forgot to put a reserve on, and on ebay you cant change that with less than 12 hours left in auction. So you would be pissed to and make up an excuse, everyone that said they think its stupid probobly would of done somthing like. because when you sell you want to make profit right? so..........cmon think about it

he set a price for it I didn't. usually setting a price on something means you already took into consideration of how much of a loss or profit you will or will not make.

yes I did get my money back... most don't!

Re: bad seller detroit1994z28

I just want to say I'm sorry. People make mistakes. I refunded the money. I also appreciate all the people on this thread trying to give me a break. Theres some sellers that dont even return the money and make a thread this big Whats up with that. Like I said I made a mistake on the shipping. I dont want make a $20.00 profit for something I have close to $150.00 invested in. If I didnt refund I could see where your coming from - But I'm not that type of person. I sold a ton of things and I happen to make mistake on this one. I dont think making a mistake one time makes me a bad seller. All you did was make me look like a guy who ripped somebody off. All I can say is that I'm sorry. Also why is that other negative bringing brought up it has nothing to do with this matter. In the description I wrote if the reserve was not met I would not sell item. He won the auction but did not met my reserve. Also did you recently check his profile out yet?? I wonder why hes no longer a registered user. I know the reason. Well Once again I wish we can just drop this thread. I'm being a man about this and saying sorry I made a mistake if you want to cry today, next week, next month about this matter still go right ahead. I think this matter got way out of hand.

You can't win an item without meeting the reserve. Unless you just typed that up into the auction, which I don't think would work.

if he refunded the money....i dont see how its a scam. Its not like hes gonna keep doing the same thing to other people then refunding the money. how does he profit from that?

Re: bad seller detroit1994z28

I've had numerous times on eBay where the item has sold for less than my cost. I stand behind the decisions I make on when and how to sell and set prices. If I make a mistake, it's MY mistake, and I stand behind it and eat the loss. It's called playing fair, and having scruples. How do we know you weren't $40 short for rent or something silly, and this was all some sort of shirt term loan scam until payday? I'm not saying this is the case, but I am saying I'd be pissed too.

No offense. you do what you think right, but I'd agree with the OP: You made a deal and backed out of it. Wether you backed out of it by lying or not, you backed out. I'm happy you returned his money, but you gave him your word that this was a sealed deal, and then you backed out.
Therefore you = bad seller.

I dont care what anybody says if you can get more money for something your going to do it. I still dont know why this tread is going on and on. I read threads where sellers never gave a refund or sold junk and it barely made 2 pages. Hey I made mistake and refunded his money. I'm sorry but these parts are not cheap.

Even if there is next to no time on the auction left, if you messed up and forgot a reserve, Ebay allows you ONE bid in your own name, and once you're the high bidder...you can end the auction.

As for the "when you sell you want to make profit" comment, I've sold a bunch of stuff on here...haven't made a profit yet. I sold a brand new XE Cam on here, ended up eating about 75 bucks. I'm not complaining, someone out there will pick up some HP, I got 3/4 of my investment back, it's a done deal.

I thought the whole concept of this message board was for people that have left over parts they don't need. ALSO...when you install a part on your car and drive it around, the value of that part has just dropped because it is used. Doesn't mean it's not any good anymore, it's just that it's not worth as much. My whole point is that you have something you can't use, you already know you're gonna eat some money on it, might as well help out people that can put it to good use, and in return you get some of your investment back. Would you rather lose all the money you invested and let the thing chill out in the garage and become worthless over time? When you have a good reputation with people you meet on here, you never know when someone is going to return the favor.

OK OK...I'll get off my soapbox now
