As to using "cheap" oil for the winter, I don't change again in spring until I've got a few driving miles on the car, so I use my usual Valvoline synthetic. If I were going to change in the spring following an early winter oil change, I'd definitely use low-cost dino-oil.

I obviously am not convicted that the new Z/28 has to have a V-8. Remember, for GM the "Z" designation had historically referred to a suspension/use category -- not really the engine only. I think the turbo six could certainly be worthy of the moniker. As for the fire-breathing supercharged car, I say call it a ZL-1. Now we're talkin'

I will sometimes round off the dollar amount on the gas pump if I am on a trip or somewhere I don't usually get gas. That way when I see the statement the next month I can confirm that it was me getting the gas.
