Post Alpine 7893 and up owners inside

I just got my CDA 7893 in. Sounds awesome! Definetly needs new speakers. This deck can push a lot of clean power. I highly recommend any V-Drive powered Alpine deck.

Anyways, I want to set up the time correction. I was wondering what the best delay would be for each of the speakers? I did the math for the fronts, and got 6.1ms. I didn't figure it out for the rears because my listening positions would only be the two front seats. Any suggestions?

Also has anyone figured out the best setting for Bass focus?

Thanks!

Yes these aline HU's do sound great. I personally haven't had to much time to really figure out the time correction for my Z, but then I don't really know how to figure it out .

It's fairly simple. Once you've calculated the delay (formula is in the manual) for one listening position (For example, drivers seat) you just set the passenger side for the same delay. Same with the rears. It actually does make quite a difference in sound imaging.

I have the 7894 ( i think? the mp3 player)

anyways, I messed with it a bit, but realized that the sound for the passenger would be off slightly if you adjsuted for the driver only...so i left the side to side off. I just use the front to back setting, around 30 - 40 seems good.

I'll play more when I get time.
Sounds awesome.

Well, not entirely. Your two front speakers will be the same, and your rears will be the same. That makes the sound stage roughly where your center console would be. If you wanted to adjust for one listening position, it would definetly sound better. But I like putting on a show for passengers. I'll have to start messing with the bass focus once I get the subs in. I think that is definetly a great feature. It takes away the annoyance of having really overpowering bass coming from the trunk, and makes it seem like your components are pumping out serious bass.

Thing is, the settings should be exactly the same on all of our cars (lt1 anyways) so maybe if someone finds the right settings and does all the measurements they could share the results and save uf the time!

Well, I can tell you that for the two front speakers, the delay is 6.1ms (or 61 on the deck). I'll do the rears today when I get a new battery.
