Anyone happy with Sony Xplode?
I'm thinking hard about installing the Sony Explode 7400 deck. I have always been a Pioneer fan but I have a Pioneer DEH 8400 in my truck. While it sounds great. I just don't want the same deck in my Z28. Something different would be nice and the Sony Xplode 7400 deck seems like a nice choice. As for speakers. I got ahold of some nice MB Quartz for my front and back. The Monsoon subwoofer system will definitely go(wow 2 inch subs!)and be replaced by either some silver cap Pioneer 12s or some JLW3s. Both will rock.

I've had 2 sony xplod HUs. First one I had for a year and it worked fine. After a year I upgraded to my current unit, Sony xplod MP450X MP3 HU. I have had no problems with it so far and it's faster at reading MP3s than my cousin's pioneer DEH-P8400MP and it has never overheated even after hours of pumpin'. Only disadvantage is that it doesn't read MP3 ID tags but it doesn't really bother me.
I bought the unit mostly becasue I like the look of it (matches the interior well) and it's nice and simple.
If you're buying an xplod unit just know that they aren't the greatest unit out there and a lot of people have problems with them but I believe they are getting better.

I love my sony mp70 mp3 deck...no probs whatsoever...ID3 32 character scrolling display...tons of options...never skips and it looks choice...7 selectable colors on it....the lcd i put to bright blue...and during night all of the other buttons light up red. When the tray ejects out it the tray just glows red. I've gotten A LOT of compliments on it. Totally matches the interior. Here's a couple of pics:

I just pulled out my Sony M750, it lasted for 2 years, but it was finally time to get something newer.... never had any problems.
