Post Bypassing Monsoon Amp

Well, I just got my '99 Z28 and tried to put my Alpine deck in today with no luck. I assume that since I plugged in the harness and have no sound that the Monsoon comes with its own amp that is powering the speakers. Where is the amp and how do I get around it? Thanks guys.

I'm replacing the stock CD player. Thanks for the info!

The Monsoon amp is located in front of the spare tire above the wheel well. It is mounted to a plastic plate and is on the fender side of the plate.

It uses speaker level inputs so there is no reason why it shouldn't work with your Alpine HU unless you didn't wire it correctly.

Hmm. I'm using the same harness that I used for my '98 V6 Camaro, so you're probably right... Do you know if they make a harness for alpine->monsoon or should I just splice wires?

EDIT: Not that it really matters much.. I'm going to be putting my amp in and replacing the stock speakers, so I won't really need to go through the Monsoon amp.
