component speakers
Narrowed it down to two.
MB Quart

Alpine SPR176A's
https://www.onlinecarstereo.com/cara....asp?sku=12071
Both are 6.5" speakers and are the same price. Wondering what everyone thinks on these and which is a better choice. I have heard the Alpines and they sound really good, never heard the Quarts though. All opinions are welcomed please.

I've heard the alpine's and they're pretty nice. Haven't heard the MB Quarts but I would probably try out the MB Quarts if it was up to me.

I've got the same mb quarts in my car. Nice speaker, fits great and sounds great! Unfortunately one of my tweetes came damaged so I had to send back the tweeters to buyloud.com. Whatever you do DO NOT buy anything from buyloud.com EVER! They suck I sent my tweeters back in Nov 01 and still have not gotten them back. Everytime I call they tell me they should be here shortly and are of no help whatsoever. I now have my own car audio business online so I'm just going to get myself some replacements (probably infinity perfect components). I would hook you up on the speakers but I can't get either of those brands yet. So now that I have ranted about all that I would say go with the mb quarts. Good luck!

I've heard both speakers before, and IMO, I would go with the Alpine. The midbass response is more crisp than the MB's and the tweeters (though not as accurate) is less harsh then the MB's.

IMO I would go with the MB Quart's hands down, I believe that they are one of the best sounds car speakers out there along with Focals. So I would go with the MB Quart's.

And I wouldn't own Quarts if you gave them to me. Quart tweets are some of the harshest tweets I've ever heard.
This is a perfect example of why recommending one component speaker over another just isn't practical. Personal taste is what speaker preference is all about. That's why you need to demo as many brands as you possibly can in person.
