Dash Ligh, Radio not working?
Guys, the other day when I went to start my car, the dash light, and radio just went out. I figured it was the fuse. It has never happened to me, so i figured it was no big deal. The next day, and to my horror, all the fuses were good? Now i'm worried. I have an aftermarket radio, and i have never had this problem. I installed the radio years ago, so I never go behind the radio and play with wires. Everything else works. Headlights, int light. But I have no lights on my dash, and no power going to the radio. Do you think there is a bad ground? Has anyone ever had this problem? Thanks

do you have power windows? if yes, are they working?
if no, then it could be your RAP module....(retained accessory power)
its under your dash, black box that plugs in near the back. mine went bad on my 94. i got a new one for 10 bucks at a junk yard.

Ok, I found the problem.... It has something to do with the dimmer fuse which is 5 amps! I noticed it was popped. I didn't have a 5 amp, so I put a 10 amp in. Then every once and a while, i would hit the button to put my alarm on, and it would act as if I hit the panic button! The alarm would go crazy! I think it might be something that I wired behind the radio. It is an aftermarket radio, and maybe I hooked one of those loose wires to something important. I also noticed that if I put my lights on, the radio comes on. I think I hooked my dimmer switch up to a positive wire in the back of the radio or something to that nature. I will pull out the radio and work on it later.
