I've seen it before, mostly on Subs though. I know that JL makes 6 ohm subs, and I know that Audiobahn makes 3 ohm midbass's.

whats the point of making a 6 ohm (5.8) speaker (not sub)? arent most speakers 2 or 4 ohm? i guess i want to know what the advantage is.
thanks,
brian
BTW, are there many other 6 ohm speakers (not subs) and amps??

I know I was surprised to find that the rear speakers from my convertible were 10ohms each

For those of you that didn't know, "Re" is the DC resistance of the speaker's VC. If you want to know the impedance you need to look for the letter Z.

I would think that it's a 4ohm speaker. Usually (but not ALL the time) the DC resistance will be slightly higher than the rated impedance.

seems like i read somewhere that a higher dc resistance makes for a easier load on the amp for a given impedance.
