good afternoon all...

after searching this forum and a few others i have a few questions that i haven't found the answer to. i am planning on replacing the stereo in my '97 ws.6 soon as my stock monsoon is beginning to go out. i am looking at different head units and am interrested in alpine, eclipse, or nakamichi, although i can't find anyone online that sells eclipse.

a few quick questions for you. i am interrested in the color of the display matcing (or partially matching) the red/orange/amber illumination of the car. alpine may or may not (multicolor display mentioned). specifically, i am looking at the 7894 and above. nakamichi looks like they have some models that might work... but little info is out there on them. eclipse.... no info really available, i didn't find their website very useful.

i am looking for suggestions on specific units

as for the rest of my system, i am planning on MB quart or focal front/rear seat with a JL or eclipse AL 10" in the left rear pocket. amp wise, i am open to suggestion although i was leaning towards precion power or JL amps. again, help would be great.

any comments/suggestions on this plan would be greatly appreciated... thanks in advance...

Eclipse does not have any authorized internet dealers for head units. If you buy from an unauthorized dealer, they might refuse to honor the warranty.

 

They WILL refuse...... just as they should.....

Out of the three companies you mentioned, check out the Alpine 7998. It has a feature that allows you to change the buttons to an amber color. And it probably has the most features out of others in it's price range. ($500) Although, if your competing in SQ go with Nak.

 

I'm gonna suggest the Eclipse for sound quality but if it's the right color display you want (I don't approve, but hey, maybe it's important to some people) I can't recommend Eclipse. Most (if not all) of their displays are a blue/green. Most people I've talked to said they don't like the looks of it but I happen to like it. For me, it's SQ that counts and I recommend Eclipse for that.
