Re: sound system- choosing speakers
I currently have logic 6.5" in my car they sounds pretty good, ive had alpine type s 6.5" they were alright, As for subs Audiobaun (if you can find em), Rockford, and Kicker CompVR are what ive heard and they all sound really good, the rockfords being the loudest, and the Audiobauns take serious abuse

I would check out Caraudio.com, ignore the idiots that reply with stupidity. They will be able to tell you where to put your money.
As far as subs go, I dont reccomend mainstream you pay too much for what you get.
Audioque - is very good for amps and subs - Very reasonable prices.
DD - Higher in pricing but make incredible subs
Crescendo - is up and coming but they have a hell of a product.
Have tested retested the most of their equipment, damn good stuff.

As well to see how "loud" a sub will get you can check the sensitivity rating. And of course the bigger the sub the more air it will move, the more pressure it will make, in turn "sounds louder".
All about the specs and build quality...pay attention to detail it makes the biggest difference..

ill step up and be the bigger man and not call anyone an idiot. If you have a problem with what i say chaos then maybe you should just ignore it??? I said that cause i have experience with them and know they sound good, and imo with electronics, you get what you pay for, although there are good cheaper off brand things.

lol nah bro the guys on Caraudio.com, I wasnt referring to you man. If youve ever spend a couple of mins on CA youd know what I really meant!! My bad man
As for the brands they are good brands, but their are some that are better if not the exact same but hand built for cheaper pricing.
And again man sorry for that I should have read back, I can see how you thought that.

haha its cool Chaos, and yea JL is pretty good of what limited experience i have of them... Boss is a fairly good brand, had a friend a few years back that used abused a pair of boss 6x9's and they held up to it, heard sound stream.. its ok nothin special, just do your research read rating and all, I can personally attest to my Comp VR's 12" takin abuse, i have them overamped by about 100 watts rms per sub, and way over max
