1994 Z28- Need Some Advice!
I'm looking at a 1994 z28 I want to buy but I'm hesitant about laying down the cash for it.
82,000 miles on the car
original lt1 engine, auto tranny w/ shift kit
k&n cold air intake
leather interior in nice shape
aftermarket stereo
t tops
i test drove the car and it runs great, plenty of power.
newer tires & breaks. needs nothing but the fuel gauge fixed
here's the issue though... the paint is really messed up. There's no rust on the car but one of the previous owners thought it was a good idea to try and touch it up with red spray paint and basically messed up the paint on most of the car, it looks pretty crappy. it looks like overspray on most of it.
I was wondering if anyone knows if the paint might be fixable, like maybe taking it somewhere to have it wet sanded and buffed, but im nervous about what might be under the paint also. i realize the best option would be a new paint job but i have neither the time nor extra cash for it right now
as far as price, the guy is staying pretty firm at $3500 and i dont know if its worth it. im really tempted to buy because it is a nice car other than the body, but im a kid and i cant let my wants get in the way of making a good decision.
I need any and all advice on this one, im new to 4th generation camaros and any type of body work. I really appreciate any feedback

why is he selling it? carfax looks like? this car without the paint issues would barely bring 4k so maybe you should look else where. with out seeing the pictures you are going to be into the paint for at least $500 and probably more. and once again this car with good paint may bring 4K. so my motion is tell the guy here is 3K cash you want it or not then you have some extra cash to sort out the paint. or move on shotty paint equals someone lazy uneducated or hiding something in either case there are probably more secrets you don't have the $ for. or tell the guy you'll take it to a body shop get an estimate and you will pay him blue book (no one pays that anymore) minus the body shop bill for it.

he's selling it because he needs a truck this winter (i live in upstate ny)
But if i bought it i would be taking it back down south to school with me so i wouldnt be driving it around in the snow.
the overspray looks like it was to touch up flaws in the paint and the person just didnt know what they were doing. It wasnt done by the guy whos currently selling it. The body is straight with no rust anywhere and underneath its very clean as well so it wasnt to cover up rust.
I think im going to do it for $3000 and paint it this summer. At that price i think it is fair because it is a really nice driver.
When I paint it I'll prob do all the prep work myself and my dad's buddy/mechanic sets up a paint booth in his garage so i could probably get away with it costing less than $1500 for a nice paint job.

I've noticed a lot of mid 90's camaros with original paint that has clear coat peeling and faded paint so it doesnt surprise me if someone tried to do some touch up work
