1997 Z28 Turbo poject

MAKE OFFERS!! Send me any offer you have! My price is "asking" not demanding. If my price is off tell me why. I'm getting no intrest in this car and I really don't know why. You could almost part it out for what I'm asking, I'd do it but I'm 1000 miles away.

This has been my project for the past 6 years. I have spared no expense in the building of this engine, I have over $35,000 in receipts for this build. This is a 1997 Z28, with the odometer showing 87,240 miles. Rare Cayenne red metallic color with grey cloth interior, power drivers seat, t-tops, 20% window tint. It was originally a automatic but I converted it to a 6 speed. Paint shows its age but is a great 20 footer. Upper dash pad is cracked on the passenger side and a few pieces of seat trim are cracked but most of it is not noticable. The passenger side air bag has been removed along with the rear safty belts, they will come with the car but are not installed. The passenger window motor has come loose and will need to be tightned up before the window will operate properly. Car had zero emissions equipment installed and there is no way it will pass any kind of smog testing. Car is sold as-is and its to be understood that is is a project car not a turn key rig thats ready to go.

Engine:

Automotive Performance Engineering (APE) 355cu LT1 forged short block
Splayed 4 bolt main caps
Eagle 4340 crank
Eagle H-beam rods
-22cc dished Diamond Pistons
Total Seal rings
AFR 210 CNC comp heads
1.6 Comp Cams Magnum Rockers
Comp Cam
Comp Cam pushrods
Melings blueprinted high volume oil pump
Canton Road race pan
LT4 intake manifold
stock LT1 throttle body
ARP head studs
ARP rod bolts
Polished GM performance €œChevrolet€valve covers(not pictured)
GM Performance Parts LT4 heavy duty timing chain and gears
Solid motor mounts
Turbo system:
GT-42 76mm turbo recently rebuilt because I never let it cool down long enough, only 5 miles on it since rebuild.
Custom built mild steel tubular manifolds that feed a front mounted turbo with a 4 inch downpipe dumping before the front axle. Tial 44mm wastegate, Tial BOV, K&N cone filter. Hot side ceramic coated satin black, intake tube coated silver. Polished aluminum cold side with black silicone couplers and t-clamps throughout. Large generic "ebay" intercooler behind a cut frot bumper Built by Fast Track Performance in Louisville KY, build pics can be see on his website:

http://www.fast-track-performance.ne...age=page&id=13

Chassis:
Core support cut to make room for the Griffin radiator to stand straight up
Flexalite pusher fans on the front with manual switch
AJE tubular k-member

SJE line lock plumbed in but not hooked to switch
Earls stainless steel brake lines on the front rears still in box
Factory power steering rack without power assist
BMR HVAC delete panel car doesn't have heat or A/C
QAl adjustable coil overs in the front
Sphon Torque arm
Engine control, ignition:
F.AS.T. Stand alone, version right before XFI came out. I€™ll include a lap top that is beat up but will run this program with no problem
MSD 6al-2
MSD plug wires
New stock Opti-spark
NGK plugs
Fuel:
Racetronix Walbro 255 pump
75# Fuel injectors
Dakota Digital Speedometer converter box (haven't figured out how to get it to work right, call tech support)
Autometer boost gauge
Trans:
Stock 1993 T-56
Pro 5.0 short shifter with a Lou short stick
Spec stage 4 unsprung clutch
New clutch hydraulics
Most under hood wiring relocated out of sight with fuse block moved under passenger side frame rail

Car is a PROJECT, it does start and run but needs a few things worked out. The MSD box might have a loose wire somewhere because the other day it wouldn't throw any spark. If I had the time I would take it out of the system and just use an MSD coil as the only ignition upgrade. The tune on the car is good enough to drive it on the street and really moves, will tear the tires off at 70mph on the freeway. The car needs a day on the dyno with a tuner to get it sorted out and it should make 7-800rwhp. That is not a typo this car is build to make power not look pretty. I have never had it on the dyno or done more then driving tunes.

It ran 8.838 in the 1/8 mile trapping 92.03 MPH. This was a shakedown run on junk street tires, crawling off the line in 1st with a 2.39 60' in an effort to keep the tires from spinning. Hammered in 2nd gear blowing tires off all the way down the track.

This cars front end is ready to rock and roll as soon as you get it tuned, the rest of the car is bone stock, interior, rear end, suspension, body, wheels, tires, etc. The expensive part of this amazing street car is complete you just need to polish it and make it your own. I would suggest you trailer this car home incase the MSD box acts up again.

I am selling it because I moved to Miami FL, a few weeks ago and the car is still in Louisville, Ky at my parents' house. I am in an apartment now and can't work on the car here, can't afford to put it in storage so I have to sell my baby rather than let it rot. My loss is your gain. I am in FL and the car is in KY. If you buy it we will need to work out the details. My father will be handling the exchange in KY. I won't be present unless absolutly nessasary (plane tickets at the last minute are not cheap.)Due to the nature of the car there will be no test drives, you can start it and here it run but I can't allow it to be driven more than around the neighborhood at posted speed limits. Pics emailed on request. Thanks for looking.
