My Low 11 Second 1997 Z28 for sale (all motor LT1)
I really don't have to do this, but it's not fair for the car to not be put to use for what it is.
I'm selling because I boat more than I race, and I want a bigger boat, plain and simple.
So here it is, my 1997 Z28 for sale.
The car has gone a best of 11.14 @ 120.06, 1.542 60', with a 7.081 @ 96.39 1/8. I have a bunch of low 11 second passes on this car to back it up, and many on this site have seen it. The car is an all motor LT1.
Specs: Fully loaded Z28, Bright Green Metallic / Charcoal Leather Interior.
90k miles on the body/interior (you would never guess though), and around 2-3K miles on the entire drivetrain. Paint is mostly flawless given the year, and the interior is in near perfect shape given the year.
Engine Specs:
355 LT1 shortblock, .030 over
Forged Mahle Pistons
Forged I-beam Scat rods
Lloyd Elliot "LE2" ported stock castings
Ferrara Valves 2.00/1.56
"LE3" 236/236 .600/.600 Cam
Comp 850 lifters
Pac 1518 Beehive Springs
Comp 1.6 Pro Mag Rockers
Comp Chromoly 1 piece pushrods
Milodon 30909 oil pan w/ HV oil pump, ARP drive
ARP head bolts (12pt)
Transmission Specs:
Solid Built 4L60E (CPT) "Pro Race" Build w/ 4L65E
output shaft and support
Yank PT4000 TC
Rear:
Moser Ford 9", 31 spline moser axles
Strange 4.11
Ford Trak-loc
Suspension:
Mostly stock, except BMR Lower Control Arms & Hotchkis Panhard Rod
Wheels/Tires
15x10 & 15.x3.5 Weld ProStars
Up front 165R15 Tires
Out Back 275/50/15 M/T DR's with a few passes left in 'em.
Tuning by PCMforless, mailorder tune.
All the usual boltons, LT headers, xpipe (no mufflers), cold air intake, 58mm BBK TB, etc.
The few bads:
Car could use a better tune than the mailorder, I've been meaning to get it tuned locally but never got around to it. That being said, it runs the amazing times it does on this mailorder. It takes a minute or so to find idle at cold, but after that she's good to go.
Paint on the rear bumper is faded a bit, it polishes up but fades right back.
I noticed today the dash pad is starting to crack, only a 1/2" so far.
O2's are disconnected, never replaced 'em. Car runs fine w/o 'em.
Airbag light is on, the SIR coil in the steering wheel needs to be replaced, $40 part used. ABS inop is on due to the Ford 9".
Just trying to be as honest as I can about it.
I'd like to get around $10k for it, but it's negotiable. Here are some pictures....

Try Craigslist. I sold mine there on the second ad I posted and got what I expected out of it. Went much quicker than I thought. Oh, and if its as high maintenance as mine was, you wont miss it as much as you think

Trust me if I had the money this car would be mine. I've read about it many times and watched some of your vids. Bad car man. My dad sold you that BBK throttle body btw. Anyways good luck man. A very well represented LE car.

Yah, sucks even more when you don't "have to," just hate to see it sit when I could use the money for a toy I'd use alot more.

Is there really that little bit of interest in LT1 cars these days? This is a steal for a solid performing car.. it would cost quite a bit to duplicate this car...
Just curious, I see there's alot of views..

Your car seems very well built and I wish you luck with the sale. IMHO LT1 cars are cool, run well, and right now are extremely underappreciated.

That is a REALLY good price for a CLEAN low 11 sec car. I'll have way more in my car by the time I see a 11 sec timeslip.
