93 z28 383, is it worth the money too...

Is it worth the money to invest in an Accel DFI or F.A.S.T. engine managment system? My engine is a 383 and has been programed already, running for about 3 years, BUT I have stock heads and intake and shorty headers. I believe the tune could be better considering I am running only 13.7 on old street tires, I think its rich and timing was retarded for a conservative tuner. Does anyone have experience with either of these systems I am planing to continue with the mods and would like to beable to tune myself.

Thank for the input

you can tune it your self using tunercat at WWW.tunercat.com and you can scan it yourself with datamaster from www.ttspowersystems.com

you can go a long way on the stock pcm.

Yes but with the chip I would have to buy a chip writer and eraser, and a rewrittable chip. Mine isn't as easy as 94 and up...

thats small beans compared to an aftermarket setup. Not to mention you have to have a good understanding of whats going on to start out tuning DFI.. its not plug and play you know.

I agree...buy tunercat, datamaster, a programmer, and some blank 29C256 chips.
Unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, and even then I could think of better things to spend your money on.
